May 06, 2009. But what happens when the structure is loosened up? Have you ever transplanted a plant from a smaller to a larger pot, or into the ground? What does transplanting plants have to do with teaching and time management? I wrote earlier about how I handle late work. May 6, 2009 at 12:27 PM. May 6, 2009 at 3:39 PM. May 6, 2009 at 5:00 PM. With a little serendipity...: May 2010
http://withalittleserendipity.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
With a little serendipity. Sunday, May 16, 2010. Finding new blogs to read. I have found a new blog to love: Shakespeare Geek. I read the blog on Shakespeare Geek which was supposed to be about how the old guy relates to computer geeks but what I really got out of it was a lesson on what all of us should get out of education. It really urges students to go above and beyond what is required in class in order to get the most out of life. (what a concept! One of his other posts led me to this site. Subscrib...

Teaching isn't for wimps: December 2012
http://joanhagy.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Teaching isn't for wimps. And fifth grade isn't for sissies. Monday, December 17, 2012. I'm trying to remember to breathe. The words for the tragedy in Connecticut have been said, the questions asked, the reasons posed, and tears shed. All I need to do is breathe. Friday, as I followed the story on my iphone, I just wanted my own kids with me. Today I wanted to hug all my students. Over the weekend a three year old neighbor boy found his uncle's gun and another life tragically ended much too soon.

Are There No Repentant Nazis? | A Teacher's Education
https://teacherseducation.wordpress.com/2008/07/06/are-there-no-repentant-nazis
A Teacher’s Education. About Mrs. Chili. The Beginning of the End →. July 6, 2008 · 6:49 am. Are There No Repentant Nazis? As I read and think and learn about this period in history, I find myself coming back to the same question that nearly everyone who studies the Holocaust (this, or any other, I would imagine) comes to: how did people allow this to happen? What inspired such blind hatred for one group of people toward another? Why are there no accounts of Nazis defecting when they learned about what t...

teaching school: the learning teacher: February 2011
http://teachingschool.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Teaching school: the learning teacher. Friday, February 25, 2011. On always needing to help. The desire to serve the common good must without fail be a requisite of the soul, a necessity for personal happiness; if it issues not from there, but from theoretical or other considerations, it is not at all the same thing. How is it that this need to get inside students' heads and analyze their intellectual development in order to help them never seems to die down? Labels: big ideas and little details.
