Monday, December 26, 2016. Bright, sunny and cold. Warm hearts and family. Gathered around dining table. Ham smothered in glaze. Gift bags for brother and dad. A walk with brother in the cold sunny air. Small intimate gathering for. Early morning coffee on Christmas Morn. Beautiful Music, readings and sermon. Home for meal prepations,. Games and laughter with snorts. Fake Firelplace on T.V. Screen. To the day after. Plumbing issues with toilet. That started on Christmas Day. Having to call out a plumber.

Monday, January 02, 2017. Prefer Rain to Fog and other Stuff. Other than weather and the assortments of tweaks in our body, husband and me we are just peachy. He had two weekends with three days off and soon will be on vacation for two weeks, end of January. Son is studying for his DMV permit so he can start driving school. Thursday, December 22, 2016. Sun is shining. Laundry done. Bathrooms clean. Floors vacuumed and mopped. House is cozy and festive. Bags, packages and stockings piled under tree that sparkles with retro beads and assorted ornaments. Old wobbly, peeling green chair, plaid blanket, Mr. Christmas Bear and Twinkle toes guard packages. Santa's, old books, small trees fill the fireplace mantle. Fake poinsettias fill a gold star basket,. Flanked by Snow people , fancy box filled with cards by fake fireplace.

Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Getting Ready, Keeping it Simple. Ham with orange glaze, green beans, yams with marshmallows and baked treats on Saturday. I bought a big enough ham for two days. Sunday, along with the ham, we'll have scalloped potatoes, peas and baked goodies. Along with the meals and gifts, we will attend Christmas Eve Eucharist and Christmas Day. Gifts from my Father-in-laws (& 3 of his artwork) travels, things that belonged to my Mom, Mother-in-law, my family, old books acquired from a friend ( or found in husband collection or Goodwill), finds at second hand stores and things I have had for years.
