Wednesday, October 5, 2011. To sum up summer in a few sentences, I rocked second semester classes, spent a lovely, lazy June in Dallas, got a new set of wheels, spent 6 weeks at one of my favorite places on earth with some of my new favorite people on earth, and after a few precious days in Dallas with my family, I headed back to A&M. I got to do some shopping this past weekend at my favorite mall in Dallas and had so much fun! It's such a pretty fall color, but a very lightweight material so I have two ...

Monday, June 13, 2011. Back in the day, I didn't always appreciate my private school reading list. This summer, I'm making my own list and it even has some of those same books on it! I've already read F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. And Jane Austen's Persuasion. The first is such a haunting story of building up a dream until it is impossibly bright and has tragic consequences. Or pathetic. I need to do some research. Next on the list: Katheryn Stockett's The Help. Thursday, June 9, 2011. This Sun...

Wednesday, November 2, 2011. I'm a Fall/Harvest/Pumpkins on the Porch type of girl. My apartment had a Halloween decoration contest for the ENTIRE month of October so I had to come home and see scary ghosts and cobwebs on my neighbors porches. To each his own but I'm happy that November is here! My roommates and I celebrated by looking up adorable places to live next year and I made Alice's Tea Cup's version of Pumpkin Scones with Caramel Glaze. So Delicious! Look what you've done to me Autumn!

Friday, January 4, 2013. Do You Hear the People Sing? First book of the year: J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. I know it's kind of a children's book but I'm preparing to read the Lord of the Rings trilogy on my own later this year so I thought I'd start at the beginning. After I finish my homework of course. I'll leave you with this. I'm torn between laughing and staring silently in awe. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Do You Hear the People Sing? College Station, Texas. View my complete profile.

Wednesday, June 27, 2012. An Ode to the College Dinner. I eat frozen dinners. It all started when I begged my mom to buy me a Kid Cuisine when my babysitter was coming over to watch us while my parents undoubtedly went out to a nice restaurant. I was so excited about eating mac n' cheese and a limp "brownie" out of a divided plastic tray - spork probably included. My Seven Favorite Lean Cuisines (One for Everyday of the Week - Just Kidding). 6 Chicken Enchilada Suiza. 5 Chicken and Vegetables. The classi...

Monday, November 19, 2012. Blah blah blah about how it's been forever since I blogged. I'm so glad I got that all out. Mini Update before heading home for Thanksgiving break. My beloved Texas Aggies are doing so well right now! Decorating tip of the day: paste pictures in pretty layouts onto full sized pieces of scrapbook paper leaving a little extra on the edges for a natural frame. That way you can inexpensively display a lot of pictures by just hanging the pages up on the wall (I used these nifty ...

Saturday, September 1, 2012. Pinterest comes to Life! Howdy from one of my favorite places on earth, College Station. This year my roommates and I had to furnish our own place, which has been quite fun! Thank goodness for our parents, who have handed down all sorts of nice (to us! Here is it's story. In late May, right before I left home for the summer, I dragged my sisters out to the suburbs to buy a desk for $40. This is what it looked like Day 1:. After the Primer coats. To finish up my project, I san...

Monday, May 21, 2012. Apartment Crafting and DIY - Part 1. Two glass containers - could be any of the following:. Small baking containers (the ones organized people put flour and sugar in on their counters instead of putting the bag in the depths of the pantry). Mason jars with lids. Assorted Fillers - needs to be something heavy. Decorative Fish Tank Pebbles. Old Coins - investment for a rainy day! Sea glass - My favorite! All of my components were purchased at Wal-mart for about $10. Promise Not to Pro...
