This part of North Norfolk is a popular summer holiday destination, but it has a wide range of attractions. That make it a desirable destination all year round. Upper Sheringham's convenient and very attractive location has always brought visitors, and the village has a good range of accommodation available, including -. The Dales Country House Hotel,. While there is evidence of settlement in the area at least 3000 years ago, and we have relics of the Roman occupation, the village name is of Viking origin. By the time the Normans arrived, a church existed here - though not our existing church, which was built in the 15th century on the site of the earlier one. The reservoir is fed by a spring a little further up the hill; for many years it was the village water source.

According to Noel Coward, Norfolk is flat and (by implication) not very interesting. Not true!
