I was lucky enough to find this fantastic bundle of Splash by Alex Anderson from RJR Fabrics in my mail box. So I went to work on EQ7 to come up with a fun block to showcase this great line. And this is what I came up with. I'm calling it Summer Breeze. It was a real stretching experience for sure,. What do you think?

Monday, December 30, 2013. Celtic Solstice Mystery Quilt Part 5. I started part 5 by cutting mirror image neutral triangles with the Easy Angle ruler from 2" strips. The notches where the missing dog ear is will help line everything up. To do this I had to cut with two strips right sides together. after that I cut the blue triangles with the Easy Angle ruler from 3-1/2" strips. Sunday, 18 December 2016. With only a couple of weeks left for 2016, I have realised there are some quilts not blogged about. Given that is a diary of my quilt finishes, I need to fill in. First that comes to mind are the baby Quilts. I was the only person who knew that Lukes new baby was to be a girl so I could make her quilt. The 2015 Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery Block of the Month was using the Primitive Gatherings fabric line Snowman Gatherings. The setting is really lovely with Snowmen and trees being the filler blocks and a row of beautiful stars top and bottom. The quilt has been much admired by everyone who has seen it. Saturday, 30 July 2016. Summer Solstice - Flying Geese. The first week of sewing for Happy Quilting's. New Quilt Along meant making flying geese. because I chose the make 16 of the 20 inch blocks, I had to sew 16 groups of 8 flying geese. Tuesday, 26 January 2016. The designer for the last Aussie Charm Swap. For 2015 was the amazing Tula Pink. The swaps are organised by the lovely Ms Midge. When it came time to make a quilt, it was a long time before I could decide what to do. As soon as I saw Camille Roskelley's Patchwork Swoon. The centre star was using Bees Knees in Lapis from the Timeless Collection. The star points are Hoppy Dot in Shade from Fox Field. I am linking up to Ms Midges Parade of Tula Charm Quilts. I decided to make mine up in a cushion in colours matching the July Block I made into a table runner for her. Friday, 25 March 2016. Scrapbasket One Plus One. This month Upstairs Hobby Rooms One Block Wonder is called One Plus One. My 2 1/2 inch strip bin is overflowing, so I used the opportunity to use that for my blocks,. Somehow, I kept making more and more blocks, so ended up with enough to make a quilt.
