The Kingdom of God is at Hand. April 7, 2010. So, it’s the beginning of my second year at UCLA. It’s the middle of training for my first year as an RA in Rieber. I am settling in to my single room with my furniture and shelves and everything. It’s my first night inside my own room. At Fall training, we train till late at night, and sometimes we wouldn’t sleep until 2am only to wake up at 7:30am. I could show her my new room! So I bolt my door open and resume organizing stuff on my computer. So, instead o...

we are broken: November 2009
http://trevor-malda.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 November 2009. I've currently got 21 days left in Nigeria before I make the 2-day trek back to Canada! Speaking of 2-day treks, I'm on one tomorrow with Niger State as my end point. I'll be travelling up with Jeremiah, who works with Water Wins, an organization that drills bore holes farther North where clean water is quite scarce and the terrain is too rocky for wells. I hope to be able to witness some of the work they're doing there and share it with you all! It's been a great time. I re...

The Missional Mind: March 2010
http://themissionalmind.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 26, 2010. Losing our Muchness and Settling. Pop culture is full of cross-cultural and missional truths that are discovered in some rather fun and yet odd places. Today we will discuss two places of discovery, the movie. And the TV show. It was interesting how in the span of a week, these two not-so-obvious resources of missional truth spoke to the same issue that I see plaguing the church, a miss-guided view of God's passion that has lead to a deep sense of apathy and settling. So, what doe...
