Friday, July 24, 2015. This Week in Neat-O. Insanely Cute Cat Commercials from Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki’s Legendary Animation Shop. One of my favorite movies is Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I've always wondered why Kerry and Kevin Conran never made another movie, and now the Telegraph has the answer in this piece: How Kerry Conran saw Hollywood's future - then got left behind. How Franklin Became Peanuts. 8216; First Black Character, Thanks to a Caring Schoolteacher. Trailer is pretty fab&...

Saturday, July 18, 2015. Happy Kristen Bell Day. 35 years old today. Friday, July 17, 2015. Also, It's My Birthday. 39 years old. Weird. I still feel 22. Only one more year until I turn 40. On the Subject of Me. This Week in Neat-O. Obviously, the neatest thing going on this week is all of the information and imagery that we're getting from the New Horizons Pluto mission. Here's the mission page at NASA. Which is being updated every day. Well, if nothing had gotten me xazzed for The Force Awakens. Dwayne...

Thursday, August 13, 2015. Another bloom. This one is red, but the amount of sunlight in the picture makes it look pinker. It's actually red. Red Butterflies are starting to come up and sit on the plant for a little while. It's just really relaxing and nice. It clouded over a bit today and Becca took some pictures that show the red off a little better. Labels: On the Subject of Me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to My Mind. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. A review of the films I've seen this past week. Your comment at the end about the real American way is brilliant. Mind if I repost that? Friday, June 05, 2015. This Week in Neat-O. These Amazing Videos Show What Happens When You Befriend A Wild Animal. I haven't seen Mad Max: Fury Road. Yet, but I dug this 80s-style trailer. 25 Images of Markets "Regulating Themselves". Related lesson in capitalism: Fuck Your Hard Work. 4 Harsh Truths It's Time To Accept About Modern Pop Culture. Says a lot about how I've been feeling about the toxic online atmosphere of adults arguing about live action cartoons. Labels: This Week in Neat-O. That refrain ...

Friday, August 07, 2015. This Week in Neat-O. Lionel Richie's stalkery music video for "Hello" is even creepier without the music. Simon Pegg as a very drunk Ron Weasley wishes Harry Potter a happy birthday on The Tonight Show. Undecided on this whole Deadpool. Thing I watched the trailer for the trailer. And the red-band trailer. I thought Michael Keaton's episode of SNL. Last year was more off-putting than funny, so in that vein, here's an off-putting cut sketch. The Honest Trailer for Fantastic Four.

http://samuraifrog.blogspot.com/2015_06_28_archive.html
Saturday, July 04, 2015. For the Fourth of July, a seldom-seen Muppet sketch. This aired in 1982 on the I Love Liberty. Special. Developed by Norman Lear for his People for the American Way non-profit to celebrate the 250th birthday of George Washington, this segment sees Big Bird and Martin Sheen (before he was president, natch) discussing turmoil, leading to a pre-taped sketch featuring the Muppets as the Continental Congress. Apparently there's a new video for this year! Labels: Misc. Holidays. The on...

Friday, June 19, 2015. This Week in Neat-O. New trailer for The Peanuts Movie. Turns out I'm really looking forward to this movie. I mean, I liked the teasers already, but this looks charming. Spider-Man Can't Be Gay or Black. Well, that's actually it this week. Given what's dominating the news, we're all a little weary. Or we should be. Go do something neat-o this weekend. Labels: This Week in Neat-O. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. A review of the films I've seen this past week. STRANGER BY THE LAKE. Aside: ...

Paper Matters: Eugene O'Neill playbill
http://papermatters.blogspot.com/2010/05/eugene-oneill-playbill.html
Discoveries along the never-ending paper trail of ephemera. Sunday, May 23, 2010. I've got about half-a-dozen drafts of blog posts cooking here and none of them ready to serve up. I wanted to post something and keep the blog alive, so I reviewed some of my old posts on another ephemera blog and found something appropriate. This is a 1963 playbill for Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night. Ahh, I thought she looked familiar. So what else might be in this playbill? More plays that Ms. Dukakis ...
