The Urban Beer Gardener: Get out of your Beer Bubble!
http://urbanbeergardener.blogspot.com/2010/04/get-out-of-your-beer-bubble.html
The Urban Beer Gardener. Grow, Brew, Share. Sustainable Homebrewing in my suburban backyard. Friday, April 16, 2010. Get out of your Beer Bubble! So if you are reading this blog, then you at least have an appreciation for beer (Or maybe just gardening for that matter). My question to you is, when was the last time you tried a new beer? When was the last time you bought your beer from a NON grocery store? We are all a habit of routine and familiarity - don't make this the case when you buy and consume beer.

The Urban Beer Gardener. Grow, Brew, Share. Sustainable Homebrewing in my suburban backyard. Friday, May 14, 2010. Putting in the Guy Line. So it's time to complete my growing environment for my hops. They've thrived up to this point and now it's time to grow their way up the guy line. My Cascade hop started to lean -this is a good indicator that it's ready to grow up (pun intended.) The Zeus and Centennial are just behind it in growth, while my Willamette is still trying to surface. Favorite Barleywine:...

The Urban Beer Gardener. Grow, Brew, Share. Sustainable Homebrewing in my suburban backyard. Friday, March 19, 2010. Planting Lavender and Rosemary. So last weekend I planted some Lavender and Rosemary in our front yard. Actually, it's more like a front entry way then it is a yard. I decided to plant them here because they are aesthetically pleasing (did you expect me to say pretty? He has written many books including. Brewing up a Business. And another one- Extreme Brewing. Which offers some "Extreme" h...
The Urban Beer Gardener: The Hops have Surfaced
http://urbanbeergardener.blogspot.com/2010/04/hops-have-surfaced.html
The Urban Beer Gardener. Grow, Brew, Share. Sustainable Homebrewing in my suburban backyard. Thursday, April 29, 2010. The Hops have Surfaced. As far as watering goes, we've been getting rain about once or twice a week lately so I've only watered maybe four times over the last three weeks. As it gets hotter, I will have to tend to them much more often. I plan on getting a drip system eventually which will save me time, water, and money! Posted by The Urban Beer Gardener. Urban Beer Hikes
Wednesday, December 3, 2014. After 5 years, I am putting urbanbeerhikes.com to sleep. Google recently "upgraded" their map-creation tools and converted all of the maps I worked so hard to customize. Their shitty new format pretty much broke all of my stuff. (Scroll down to some earlier posts and see what I mean. The maps are boring and useless now.). Perhaps I'll find it again, who knows? Thanks for reading. See you at the bar. Posted by Urban Beer Hiker. Thursday, August 21, 2014. The pub itself isnt re...

Urban Beer Nerd | A beer blog for the love of all things craft beer
A beer blog for the love of all things craft beer. Barfly’s View: City Beer Store in San Francisco, CA. I spent the last week in the glorious city o’ San Francisco, and I drank enough great beer to pickle an aging Irishman, which is to say much quality brew was consumed. The space is half retail shop and half bar, and it’s split accordingly, with a number of jam-packed shelves and a cooler to the far left when you enter, and the bar area and a few small tables to the center and right of the entrance.

Urban Apiary
Honeybees in the City". Wednesday, July 11, 2007. Urban Apiary has moved. It's been quite a while since I last update the blog. I've been extremely busy with work. I've seen Detroit, Chicago, Charleston, Indianapolis, Memphis, Washington D.C., Dallas and a few other cities in recent weeks. Due to my ever expanding "hobby" I moved the hives about 5 miles from the house. The hives are now located just outside the city limits. We are now up to 9 hives at this location and I have 3 NUCS at Lazy Acres. I came...
