Skip to main content. Homesteading - Growing Food, Not Lawns. In 2015 I'll have a bit of updating to do here to. Our old website focused on 'gardening', but we've grown in-real-life to do much more. Our first chicken coop was built with scrap lumber and also some hardware I'd purchased at Habitat-ReStore. Cost: Over $1,000. I know he didn't have an extra $900 laying around. And neither do most people.

Plus, a lot of topics may not fit nicely into the garden, livestock, diy bucket. Probably going to rant a bit, but not likely I'll be foaming at the mouth or howling at the moon. Sour Cherry Chocolate Crumble. August 5, 2015. For the last couple of weeks I’ve had this this low-grade summer cold which has made me less energetic than my normal self. It hasn’t, however, stopped me from making dinner parties. What I’ve tried to do is make less complicated and time-consuming dishes and give myself a bit of a break. As most of my regular readers know I bought a flat of sour cherries. At the market a few weeks back and so now have a freezer full of ready to use frozen sour cherries.
