We had a lot of small people around with their lanterns, singing the traditional songs and being rewarded with sweets. I am not good - I no longer make a lantern from a turnip (like the one in my icon) but use a pumpkin instead as it is easier to hollow out! Mum has been moved to the Cottage Hospital and is continuing to improve - she can now hold a conversation without becoming breathless and can walk short distances, albeit with a zimmer frame. Here are the other pictures I took of the statues of Godred Crovan and King Olaf in Ramsey. King Olaf is remembered as a great statesman. So - here they sit, outside the Courthouse building in Ramsey, playing chess. I clearly found myself more taken with the older warrior Godred than younger, statesmanlike, Olaf - I took more pictures of him! And a close up of their chess pieces -.
