Pragmatism and idealism have an arm-wrestle. Kibitzers welcome. Sunday, May 31, 2009. My dad isn't going to like this post, so I apologize in advance, Dad. Whenever I am reminded that my dad traded in a '64 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS. For a '72 Vega Panel wagon (ours was green, but this was the best picture I could find online). I wonder what the attraction was, other than maybe it would be nice to have a working transmission, and it must have been cheap. And the next car my dad got? Where does the time go?

Yesterday we spent the day in Prague! Posted by Derek and Vicki and family. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, October 2, 2009. So it's super late at night. and how do I know that? We often define our worth by the size of our paycheck, our home, the number of kids we have, or don't have, the number of years we spent in school, or the number of vacations we have taken. We identify our selves by these numbers and feel safe when we can measure or quantify our lives. Does it have a number? The scriptures tell us that the worth of one soul is great! How do we measure "great", can we assign that a number? A big...

Pragmatism and idealism have an arm-wrestle. Kibitzers welcome. Tuesday, January 20, 2009. What I Did On My Winter Vacation. We did a bit of horse-drawn sleigh riding out in the countryside at the Red Tail Ranch,. Accompanied by the ranch dog, reportedly part coyote. We wandered into the big city of Leavenworth (well, compared to Plain, anyway) and did some sledding,. As well as some lunch, where Max showed us how he lost a tooth,. But no fear, the tooth fairy still managed to find us. The Doctor is In.

Pragmatism and idealism have an arm-wrestle. Kibitzers welcome. Friday, February 26, 2010. Just a Minor Detail. Set I got in a nostalgic moment at a Radio Shack at least a decade ago, and started thumbing through the index for a suitable amplifier circuit. From our amplified speaker. I think the discrimination in the crystal set is virtually non-existant; we're probably listening to a smear of the AM band about 200KHz wide, so tuning the variable capacitor (the soda can with the paper bit around it) we c...

Pragmatism and idealism have an arm-wrestle. Kibitzers welcome. Thursday, November 06, 2008. Party in the Hizzouse. The buglet and friends partied on the day of the dead, and one of their fun games was to see who could be first to get a bite out of a swinging apple. No one actually managed it sans hands, but there was some determined trying. Image courtesy of Gilman, father of the fairy in the picture. Posted by Mr. Koshchei. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Pragmatism and idealism have an arm-wrestle. Kibitzers welcome. Friday, June 26, 2009. The Flavor of Childhood. I like pizza. I don't like all pizza equally well, but the basic idea can be executed in a lot of different ways and still turn out fine. Pizza made with focaccia is pretty good, the sort I remember from San Francisco, probably at Boudin's. Deep dish style stuff is fine. Limp pizza doesn't do as much for me, the sort turned out at Pagliacci. Wednesday, the Formidable Mrs. Had a dinner event for...
