Happenings In The Hills. Dewey Lake Manor Bed and Breakfast. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. US 12 Heritage Trail. During the summer, many things happen along US 12, but my main interest is in the Irish Hills area, because I live here. Walker Tavern-at the intersection of 12 and 50- has Vintage Baseball Games, Picnic in the park music events, and a Farmers Market every Sunday (except NASCAR Sundays). Wednesday, April 1, 2009. Hunt for Antique Treasures in Allen, Michigan. When the days shorten and the leaves start to turn shades of saffron red and honey gold, it's time to wander down U.S. 12, a Michigan heritage highway that traces the Old Sauk Trail, an American Indian byway, as it leads to Allen, considered to be the Michigan's antiques capital. After finding a few treasures, I headed out of town to the Allen Antique Barn, a big red building whose outside is a cluster of weatherproof artifacts.
