Chasseur: January 2015

Wednesday, 28 January 2015. Assembling and Painting Artillery. After previous posts on painting infantry. I thought I'd add another on assembling and painting Napoleonic artillery. I'll use the Perry Austrian Artillery as the example, as they also involve some more complexity than other artillery pieces (well the cavalry guns anyway! First off I should say a huge thank you to Dmitry who has this very helpful series of blog posts about the Perry Napoleonic Austrian Artillery. Next stage is to add the seco...

Chasseur: September 2014
http://chasseuracheval.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, 13 September 2014. French Line on the workbench. Spring is in the air. That happy time of year when I can get outside and use lots of smelly spray paint, and also assemble plastics with the windows wide open on account of the even more awful smelling plastic cement. Reading a recent blog post by Paul. And discussing the idea of having some games got me inspired to make a start on the next round of reinforcements. And no guard yet either! Links to this post. Monday, 8 September 2014. Austrian Uh...

Purpleworld: 1/23 Bandemer Grenadiers
http://thatpurpleworld.blogspot.com/2016/07/prussian-syw-grenadiers.html
Shameful lack of content. Sunday, 31 July 2016. Small Combined Grenadier Battalion completed. The Von Focade side will need to be added. May add a command stand in future (without flags as I am semi historical.*). These were originally part of an imaginations army I painted in April for an Ayton. Big game and Ive just repainted them. In that battle they were charged in the rear and fled without causing a single casualty. I'm sure they will do better in the next game as sturdy Prussians.

Purpleworld: November 2016
http://thatpurpleworld.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html
Shameful lack of content. Saturday, 19 November 2016. Yesterday I completed two small Prussian command vignettes in my current mission of clearing the ever swollen leadpile. For the first one I had this idea of a stoic officer seemingly calm walking across a war ravaged field. I don't usually have casualties on bases as I don't particularly like it on the wargames table but it seems to work and clears some more of the spares box! The horse was originally belonging to one of my old Ayton. Shameful lack of...

http://thatpurpleworld.blogspot.com/2017_01_01_archive.html
Shameful lack of content. Monday, 30 January 2017. A converged battalion of Grenadiers from the Manteuffel and Moritz battalions. Really the Manteuffel's should have braiding across there lapels but I thought the White was so striking that I'd leave them out. I'll do it on their Musketeer Regiment and all will be forgiven. Awaiting Tufts and Pufts. More Command vignettes next. Monday, 16 January 2017. Although I've not posted any new units of my own for a while its because I've done that age old Wargamer...

Shameful lack of content. Monday, 17 October 2016. After six weeks slogging through the Hussars, these guys took about 3 days of painting! Technically they are only half finished. Limbers can wait. I love the sponger figure - he is so cute! Wednesday, 5 October 2016. Next up Prussian Artillery and a heap of terrain projects. Back Row. The 4th figure along I dropped 4 times and had to be repaired each time. Good omen? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Another Historical Wargaming Blog! Shameful lack of content.

Chasseur: February 2015
http://chasseuracheval.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 28 February 2015. Links to this post. Wednesday, 18 February 2015. Last of Plastic Austrians. The plastic Austrians are finally finished. With what was left over I decided to paint up two extra bases for each of my 36 strong helmeted regiments. That means I can use them as two 48's or four 24's. I also added a couple of Sappers, made using the Perry Plastic Sapper plus Victrix Grenadier head. They have a role in the Lasalle rules. Links to this post. Saturday, 7 February 2015. Musings from the Gateway. October 4, 2016. The next ASD ( Another Slight Diversion. V GEP (General E Pickled) painting challenge has been agreed. By midnight on 30 November 2016…. Andy will have completed the re-basing of his existing 15mm ACW troops – c60 -70 bases. And, he’ll paint 60 ACW foot and 16 ACW cavalry. It sounds a long shot to me but I suspect he may already have done some of the basing. Laquo; James Long’s regiment is seconded to the Gateway. 8 thoughts on “ November’s challenge. I see you&...
