popChomsky: March 2010
http://popchomsky.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wow, to say we had an amazing trip would be a huge understatement! All those tacos, tortas, churros, moles, tequilas and margharitas in Mexico City. the amazing murals of Diego Rivera which totally blew our minds. the markets. the mayhem.the total HUGENESS which is El DF. And that was only two days! After 2 hours spent simply trying to navigate the exit ramps out of Havana we hit the autopista.or rather, it hit us. An old Soviet project it was a 6 laned mega highway (though much potholed) which w...Ahhh ...

popChomsky: sweating the small stuff!
http://popchomsky.blogspot.com/2010/08/sweating-small-stuff.html
Sweating the small stuff! Didn't someone write a book titled something like 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff'? Yeah, I know.if I was truly interested I would google it. alas I am not. this is because I am LOATHING the small stuff at present. All the washing to be done in a day! This is not to mention all the little strays we seem to have at present- so many sad, lonely little socks widowed of their life partners. Why o why are you so hard to spot? How is it one stray piece can prevent an entire creation?

Easter show and adrenaline junkies. We went to the Royal Easter Show today. it was my first time going as an adult. it was my first time at the new location at Olympic Park. it didn't really feel the same. i'm not sure whether this was because of the time lapse or the location. my gut feeling is that it's location- i reckon i can still harness much of the raw energy and exuberance of childhood! That old world- old skool feel just wasn't there at the new, somewhat sterile locale. Links to this post.

Boys and their toys. Time to look back on the school holidays- which in hindsight flew by. we busied ourselves with museum visits, yum cha, parks, blockbusters (btw is there anything cuter than 3D glasses on kids! In short, he created a vehicle which can only be described as 'fully sick mate'. dear god, what does my future hold! See below for one version- albeit a fairly minimalist, restrained design ;-). Now, school is back and I am not happy about the return of the insane morning rush! I just can't fig...

My love affair with persimmon. I have recently developed an unbridalled love for persimmon and all things persimmon! Is it their amazing colour? Is it their delectable taste? Is it the way they brighten a cold, dead landscape in their luminous orb-like form, hanging like lanterns from bare branches? Since our return, i have discovered black star pastry's. Persimmon danish (follow this link to read my review! I have also sought a supplier to grown my own little tree. Oh sweet persimmon i love thee so xxx.

Vietnam dreaming. {again}. Less than 2 months til we go. images of viet nam never far from my mind. a couple of oldies here which made it through the devastating theft:. Left: village men rebuilding a traditional communal house in the central highlands. the tallest bamboo is sought and used whilst still green to allow flexibility for creating the steeply pitched roof. I used to see this lovely bird-keeper every day on my stroll to work. he was always so attentive to his trusting feathered friends. When b...
