Driftwood – Eponymous Ale | What Chris Drinks
https://whatchrisdrinks.wordpress.com/2011/01/16/driftwood-eponymous-ale
Beer, Mostly from BC. Driftwood – Eponymous Ale. Light copper colour that is quite deceiving. This beer is hiding an IPA hop punch. The lighter malt presents the hop as the main flavour. A rich soap and pine hop jump out and finish with a bite. A must try for hopheads. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window). Deschutes – “Red Chair” Hoppy North West Pale Ale | What Chris Drinks
https://whatchrisdrinks.wordpress.com/2011/01/22/deschutes-red-chair-hoppy-north-west-pale-ale
Beer, Mostly from BC. Deschutes – “Red Chair” Hoppy North West Pale Ale. Deschutes isn’t one of my favorite breweries, but this beer is a cut above. Fit of the name IPA this northwest style ale is what I love about the beer in this region. Like drinking a pine forest, this beer leaves its mark. A medium malt pushes the hops to the front of the beer making intense and delicious. Try it. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window). January 22, 2011. Iain (of Yaletown) – “Oud Brun” 30% Oak Aged Sour Brown | What Chris Drinks
https://whatchrisdrinks.wordpress.com/2011/01/22/iain-of-yaletown-oud-brun-30-oak-aged-sour-brown
Beer, Mostly from BC. Iain (of Yaletown) – “Oud Brun” 30% Oak Aged Sour Brown. I have had this beer a few times, but not the oak aged version. The sour taste is quite prevalent throughout the beer. Good malt on a darker than normal brown. Certainly a unique ale. This is worth a sip or two if you get the chance. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). R&B – Red Devil Pale Ale | What Chris Drinks
https://whatchrisdrinks.wordpress.com/2011/01/31/rb-red-devil-pale-ale
Beer, Mostly from BC. R&B – Red Devil Pale Ale. R&B is a great Vancouver brewery. You can find there stuff on tap all over town. This pale is a very nice copper red colour. It smells slightly spicy with a bit of pine. A nicely hopped pale that is well balanced with the malt. The taste has a nice spice with some lemon. Piney hop that leaves some flavour as it finishes. Overall an excellent pale that is hopper than some IPAs that I have tried. A great session beer as well. January 31, 2011. Brewdog –...

Archive for the ‘Uncategorized’ Category. As I’ve hinted at before, I’m off to Cuba this week, so you won’t see my rosy outlook on life updated any time soon. I had hoped to get round two of the Molson reviews done before leaving, but alas, my guinea pigs were all off doing out-of-towny/gravity-assisted type stuff last weekend, the losers. April 26th, 2011 at 9:53 am. I will try and post short updates here (and certainly on twitter), but will likely leave the big summary until I return. For those of ...
