Vancouver Island Mommy

Saturday, December 01, 2007. Snow Day (sort of)! So I woke up this morning with the Peanut and gasp! It was snowing. Y'all that live here on the Island know it only does this a couple of times a year and this was the first of the season. I was so excited thinking I would take the Peanut out in the snow and.what exactly? So after the Peanut's morning nap, I gamely spent ten minutes dressing him in his booties, mitts (with no thumb! The wind was positively biting! Realized at the mall that it's a Saturday ...

Vancouver Island Mommy: September 2007

http://www.vancouverislandnurse.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 24, 2007. My kitty has cancer. Well, one week, two visits, and nearly $800 later, I have confirmation that it is not just an infection. And there is not really anything I can do besides keep her comfortable. So, she'll be getting Fentanyl patches(too bad I can't steal those from work! And as long as she seems to be coping, we'll keep her at home. Thursday, September 20, 2007. I'm back and other matters. Okay, so I haven't posted all summer and it's September(already? Formerly Vancouver ...

Vancouver Island Mommy: December 2006

http://www.vancouverislandnurse.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 22, 2006. Yes, I wrote it all myself! So Christmas is right around the corner, so I have a present for all you nursey types. Enjoy! The Night Before Christmas, Hospital Style. 8216;Twas the night before Christmas and all through the ward. Not a patient was stirring, no sound to be heard;. The IV bags were hung on the poles with great care,. In the hopes they’d keep dripping, not fill up with air;. The patients were tucked up all snug in their beds,. Now PE and Staph! And then in mere mom...

Vancouver Island Mommy: Back and better than ever (?!)

http://www.vancouverislandnurse.blogspot.com/2007/11/back-and-better-than-ever.html

Friday, November 30, 2007. Back and better than ever (? So for those astute reader(s) out there, I've changed my name. It kinda reflects the change in my life. I hope that I will post more often if I'm a mommy blog than a work blog, especially since I'm still on mat leave. Ian, aka the Boss, is actually asleep. I've been trying this new thing with him (how many times have I said that? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Formerly Vancouver Island Nurse, but being a mommy became much more important.

Vancouver Island Mommy: October 2006

http://www.vancouverislandnurse.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 31, 2006. For the 5 or so of you who have read my blog, you may have noticed that I haven't posted in a couple of weeks. That's because I have big news, and I didn't want my friends and family to read about it on a blog before I got to tell them in person. Of course that news is that I'm pregnant! Anyway, it's been a week now, and I haven't had anything else that embarrassing happen so far. Of course, as my pregnancy progresses, I'm sure there will be new depths of indignity and humi...

Vancouver Island Mommy: June 2007

http://www.vancouverislandnurse.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Ian, bless his soul, was completely unaware that anything different was going on, and ate his lunch like a pro. I'm sure it's one of those things that will get easier with time. I bet after a couple more outings, I'll just whip those puppies out whenever Ian get hungry. But now that I've experienced public breastfeeding, I will definitely be more sympathetic when another mother expresses concern about it. Friday, June 08, 2007. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Big City Girl, Small Town Teacher: August 2006

http://teachmenow.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html

Big City Girl, Small Town Teacher. All about my adventures teaching in a small community. Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Boating In The Traditional Territory. We went out for the annual boat trip for new teachers. It was exhausting for me, even though I did absolutely nothing. I just sat on deck and chatted with all those aboard. We saw some really cool things. We saw lots of wild life such as seals, jumping fish, hump-backed whales along, eagles, bears, and wolves. I still can’t believe how beautiful this ...

Big City Girl, Small Town Teacher. All about my adventures teaching in a small community. Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Halloween is a BIG deal here. All the kids dress up and go trick-or-treating . even the teenagers. I'm all set for the kids in costumes. I have 50 mini-chocolate bars: Caramilk, Coffee Crisp, and Crispy Crunch. I'm also set for the kids without costumes. They get squirt with the squirt gun. I'd take a picture . actually I found one on the internet. Posted by Small Town Teacher @ 4:50 PM.

Big City Girl, Small Town Teacher. All about my adventures teaching in a small community. Saturday, September 30, 2006. Sex sells these days. I keep swearing heavily in my blog these days, but I have another Holy Fuck moment! I read three blogs religiously . because they usually post everyday. One is phallusy's blog. One is Brad's blog. And the other is Matt Good's blog. And the last entry from all of them has referred to sex! Should I follow in their footsteps . the blogger I admire the most? Big time&#...

Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. Nature musings on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Ode to the Nuthatch – Annie Pang. Oh, what a grey, rainy start to November we have had indeed! For us in Victoria, though not as cold as other parts perhaps, the cool and damp just sink into the bones it seems and makes one wish to crawl under the bed and hibernate for several months! Having said this, a day later the sun came out and I managed two much better shots with the imp...
