somerville kitchen: Wacky IKEA
http://somervillekitchen.blogspot.com/2015/07/wacky-ikea.html
A Quotidien Food Moments Blog. Thursday, 2 July 2015. Going to IKEA on a Thursday = Instant material for Wacky Thursdays. I cannot believe I stood in line up for 25 minutes to eat IKEA food. But I still had the lower level of the store to roam so, being hungry, I was held hostage by the anticipated finds. Plus, the food is of decent quality and long line ups means freshly made. And one is paying fast food prices for casual dining platters. Im looking forward to trying their vegan meatballs. Tonights than...

somerville kitchen: Back to the Kitchen
http://somervillekitchen.blogspot.com/2015/06/back-to-kitchen.html
A Quotidien Food Moments Blog. Tuesday, 30 June 2015. Back to the Kitchen. After all the simple meals I have been making, I started missing getting my hands dirty with complex cooking. The cookbook I chose is The World of Street Food. The recipe I chose is a Malaysian Nasi Lemak. It was perfect since it gave me an opportunity to use my gift of Tamarind paste from My Dear Lovely Neighbour. First, a simple rice made with coconut milk. I threw some curry leaves and mustard seeds in the rice. Tonights thanks...

A hungry girl's guide to whining and dining in T.O. Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Holy Falafel I'm back! After a very lengthy pause. during which I have resorted to a healthier lifestyle while still feasting and imibing. I look to my 30s to be gluttonous and more frugal than ever! Grocery shopping always becomes so much more expensive with the added bounty of meat. Toodles my carnivous ways on my newly adopted "Meatless Mondays"! Falafels (adapted from The Joy of Cooking). Stir together: 1/3 cup tahini. Heat ...

The servers worked hard there, but there was definitely a wait for the piping hot, freshly battered and fried fish. Fish selection was great, and that batter is probably the best fish and chips batter I've had. Hubbs liked dousing his chips in vinegar (yuck, really? Saturday, April 10, 2010. Food: * * * * 1/2. Service: * * * 1/2 (Take-out). Food: * * * * 1/2.

Life Bites
http://lifebitesmm.blogspot.com/2014/09/middle-sister-came-into-town-and-wanted.html
Sunday, September 14, 2014. Middle sister came into town and wanted to take me out for a belated birthday dinner. She's a gluten free vegetarian and after she did a little "what's new in food in vancouver" and discovered Ask for Luigi and that they offered a g-free pasta option. The menu is fairly short and sweet with about 10 appetizers and 5-6 different pastas. And they all sound fairly delicious. Unfortunately, the options were pretty limited in terms of vegetarian options that they could make...Appet...

Life Bites: April 2014

Saturday, April 19, 2014. Wayward Vegan Cafe in Seattle. I'm a big fan of "experience" or "activities" as gifts. This year, for Christmas, my little sister and I told my dad we wanted to treat him to a day trip to Seattle to visit the Experience Music Project and Sci Fi Museum. This a pretty casual place; you place your order at the front counter, bus your own dishes, refill your own water, etc. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito. Scrambled seasoned tofu, spicy tvp chorizo and spinach wrapped up in a king-s...
