A Walk on the Wild Side: December 2011
http://walkwild24.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
A Walk on the Wild Side. 8220;One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” - William Shakespeare. I've seen deer and I've seen turkey. I've seen chipmunks too, but since we moved out here, I haven't seen a bunny yet. I was fairly certain they would be around since they are everywhere. We saw them several times at the old place. They are snowshoe hares. Cute little bunnies that are brown in summer and white in the winter. Snowshoe in the summer. Snowshoe in the winter. What's left of my garden. I'm gla...

A Walk on the Wild Side. 8220;One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” - William Shakespeare. Okay, I know it's not a reindeer. but it was so cool to see this guy walk through! I was on the phone with my mom and I saw something walking up our driveway. It's not uncommon to see deer, but I was shocked to see a deer with antlers! All the years I've been up here, I have not seen a buck. My nutty dog Poppy was looking out the window whining- she really REALLY wanted to go out to play.

A Morning Surprise
http://walkwild24.blogspot.com/2012/01/morning-surprise.html
A Walk on the Wild Side. 8220;One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” - William Shakespeare. This was not a playful bark. It wasn't even a "I'm going to get you and tear you up" kind of bark. It was a kind of "Oh crap! I said to myself "What is she barking at? She never barks outside," as I go to let her back in. She's standing on the porch looking towards her "potty spot" and so I look in the same direction. There was dog poo on the porch. It was rather funny, but poor Poppy was shaking so bad.

A Walk on the Wild Side: October 2011
http://walkwild24.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
A Walk on the Wild Side. 8220;One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” - William Shakespeare. The Colors of Fall. I love the colors of fall. The reds and golds are so rich and stand out beautifully against the bright blue sky. That is, on a cloudless day. Most of the leaves have dropped off these golden trees. Making a golden carpet for "Turkeys on Parade"! My bed sits under a window that overlooks a little field. They were just heading back home. It's Going to Rain. The funniest thing - maybe not...

Eclipse
http://walkwild24.blogspot.com/2011/12/eclipse.html
A Walk on the Wild Side. 8220;One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” - William Shakespeare. No, I'm not talking about the Twilight stuff. I'm talking about a real live lunar eclipse! I've been fascinated with anything to do with the sky for as long as I can remember. Stars, planets, eclipses, and the Northern Lights - I have yet to see these! I got super lucky this year! I've got my coffee and I'm watching as the shadow slowly takes over the moon! Http:/ events.slooh.com/. A Hike Up The Mountain.

A Hike Up The Mountain
http://walkwild24.blogspot.com/2011/12/hike-up-mountain.html
A Walk on the Wild Side. 8220;One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” - William Shakespeare. A Hike Up The Mountain. Since we've moved to this new house, I've wanted to explore the mountain behind me. It looms above me, calling me to climb. Okay, so it's not that big, but I've wanted to explore. Call me lazy, or maybe I've just procrastinated for whatever reason, but I've been here for 5 months now and only went out yesterday. I'm glad I did and I wish I had gone sooner! Obviously the views were ...

A Walk on the Wild Side. 8220;One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.” - William Shakespeare. Invasion of the Lady Bugs! All summer long I did not see a single lady bug. I saw plenty of aphids and other bugs, but not one lady bug. Suddenly, and I do mean suddenly, there are lady bugs dropping on our heads and crawling all over the windows.inside! I like lady bugs, I really do, but I have never seen so many in one area at one time. And how did they get IN the house, and why? It's kind of strange.
