VanMan D'Animator Blog: Art School - Thanks for the debt! :)

Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Art School - Thanks for the debt! 2D animation aint dead, how else would I pay the bills? Mostly everything I've learned on my own has found me the most success, NOT what I picked up at The Art Institute. They only glorify alumni with MAINSTREAM success to sell the school and they wont risk students dropping by telling them how bad their work is and how much harder they need to work to be as good as those who are naturally gifted. Monday, January 26, 2015. What direction is Up? The fickle Animation Industry. In today's world, students take out large loans to go to art school only to have their jobs (if they actually be among the few that are selected) taken away from them. How does one stay inspired to be the next great animator if there's no job security anymore? One minute you are given a job of a lifetime, the next minute its gone and you're back to the drawing board. To have a great studio jobs? How does a person feel good abo...

By all means, I do still that I'm still in the blossoming stage of my career but I have yet to figure out how many people handle the highs and the lows. Most artist I know have a family, homes, student loans, etc. and I've always wanted to ask; how does one keep it all together? Posted by Vannick Douglas. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, July 7, 2014. Naming your place: Freelancing Question. At some point, we've all been in this situation; What should I charge for the work a potential client wants me to do? More times than many, clients come under the impression that art is something we all love to do and it shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience to squeeze out a freebie. But for clients with a budget, whats the best way to come up with a price that works for everyone? VanMan D'Animator Blog: Nothing to Lose
http://vannickartz.blogspot.com/2013/12/nothing-to-lose.html
Wednesday, December 11, 2013. You're at the bottom, you've been there before. You even know the layout of the land, but why? Have being at the bottom for so long you've grown comfortable? This doesn't apply to all because I believe that the those to have yet seen the bottom have more to be afraid of. All being at the bottom means is that you have only one direction; up.
