Blackened Tofu From Vegan Soul Kitchen - Chow Vegan
http://chowvegan.com/2009/03/29/blackened-tofu-from-vegan-soul-kitchen
Good Eat No Meat. Blackened Tofu From Vegan Soul Kitchen. March 29, 2009. I’m not very familiar with African American or Southern cuisine, so I was very excited to have the opportunity to review the recently released cookbook Vegan Soul Kitchen. I decided to go with an ingredient (tofu) that I’m well-acquainted with but prepared in a new-to-me twist – Blackened Tofu Slabs with Succotash Salsa. Oh, and the salsa! I feel just like a kid who got a brand-new toy and I can’t wait to give Vegan Soul Kitc...

Good Eat No Meat. VeganMoFo: Veggie Fish Nuggets. October 2, 2009. After eating the Crumbed Sensation at the Loving Hut. I was hoping to find something similar in the frozen food section at the Asian supermarket. I picked up Vegetarian Mock Golden Fish Nuggets; sadly it’s not quite the same. They have a different texture. It reminds me of veggie chicken nuggets but with a slightly different flavor and a crescent shape. Laquo; VeganMoFo: Tuscan Kale Chips. VeganMoFo: Salt and Pepper Roasted Tofu. They loo...

Dusty Thorn Farm: July 2009
http://www.dustythornfarm.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Let me write it on my heart that each day is the best day of the year - Emerson. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. It has stopped raining. For the moment anyways. It has rained for two days and I have laundry to do. I have had an outside clothesline my whole life but used to if it rained I'd dry clothes in the dryer so there's no build-up of laundry. I need to look up extra things to do around Columbus and Fort Benning, inside and outside stuff in case it rains. I'll take lots of pics of the trip though. It will...

Let me write it on my heart that each day is the best day of the year - Emerson. Thursday, December 31, 2009. New Year's Hoppin' John. This is the black-eyed pea recipe that I make every year. I find most black-eyed peas end up tasting like dirt. This recipe is wonderful and the end result leaves people asking for seconds. Here's what you need:. 1 pound dried black-eyed peas. 2 Tbsp olive oil. 3 cups chopped onion. 4 to 6 large garlic cloves, minced. 3 celery stalks, chopped. 2 smoked ham hocks. I can't ...

Baked Falafel - Chow Vegan
http://chowvegan.com/2009/01/06/baked-falafel
Good Eat No Meat. January 6, 2009. I was so looking forward to pigging out at my favorite Mediterranean cafe but they were closed for the holidays. So I decided to make my own falafels, baked not fried, as part of my healthier 2009 eating initiative. Next time I’m going to try using dry garbanzos and a food processor but I’ll leave the frying for eating out as a treat. Besides, I’m much too lazy to clean up a big, fried mess. What? Did you really think I was going to stop being lazy in the new year?

Let me write it on my heart that each day is the best day of the year - Emerson. Saturday, March 20, 2010. Lately, I've had a lot rambling about in my head and I can't pinpoint any one certain thing I want to write about. I'm stressed, got too much going on, etc. and blahblahblah.so I think I'm going to take a break. I know with spring coming on, I'll be outside more and more, like always. It's just what I have to do. Take a break girl and have fun, kiss romeo and know I will miss you! My name is PJ.
