Posted by Cindy (and maybe John). May Session – Bees. Ah, May, oh so long ago, I barely remember you. I do remember some things about the bee workshop, however. Like, bees are interesting. Actually, bees are incredible. We’ve all heard some random amazing snippets about bees – ever see the youtube video of the Japanese bees vibrating to kill the invading wasp (I do sort of feel bad for the wasp – not a nice way to go)? So I will focus on my reaction to the workshop rather than the details which I can&#82...

Laquo; Why this? A Heavy Heart by Cindy. The Disappointment Monster by Cindy. Posted March 9, 2015 by Cindy (and maybe John) in Uncategorized. Although we are very rational people and able to be grateful for all the amazing people and circumstances in our lives, we are still sensitive to emotional triggers, and while we are used to coming across them every day, every now and then something jumps up and catches us by surprise. I was explaining this to my infertility support group over the weekend, and eve...

Laquo; The Disappointment Monster by Cindy. Finding Inspiration by Cindy. A Heavy Heart by Cindy. Posted March 16, 2015 by Cindy (and maybe John) in Uncategorized. Last week, I blogged about how the feeling of disappointment is a trigger for my infertility grief. Well, I’m pretty sure grief might also be a trigger for grief. Perhaps this is the thing I will learn from him how valuable it is to show the people you love how happy you are to see them every time you see them. This week, we are going to try a...

Posted by Cindy (and maybe John). OK – we promised to update this page at some point, so here it is. The wedding went off without a hitch (ha ha – see, that’s funny because we were already technically hitched in August… get it? Maybe I should have some coffee). We apologize to those people (I think you know who you are), and we hope you know how much we appreciate your help. Our amazing wedding party. And, what the heck, here’s another one:. Thursday, January 20, 2011. Renaissance Women Week 1. Brought together by Heather Walker from Makaria Farm, a group of women have committed to being part of Renaissance Women. We're dedicated to learning one new skill each month, and sharing the experience with you through art. Some of these lovely women will write stories on our adventures, others will capture photos of exciting moments or use another medium to tell of our activities — I'll use sound. http://rayeofsunshine.blogspot.com/2010/11/and-universe-smiled.html

Friday, November 26, 2010. And the Universe Smiled. Today could have been a horrible day. It could have been a sad, depressing, scary, anxious kind of day. It could have been the end of something great and the start of a big, black hole of "OMG! Today could have been the last day of my work contract and the end of my paycheque. On top of it all, I really like the job. I get to use my skills and work with interesting stakeholders and provide interesting experiences to youth. It is a dream sort of ...Shopp...

Raye of Sunshine: October 2010

http://rayeofsunshine.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 28, 2010. My mom bought me a GIANT fall mum for our yard. It took me forever to find a place where it would fit - which was the empty corner next to the back steps. But it is a perfect seasonal auburn and pretty darn lovely in the morning sunshine. Behold! Labels: Green Thumb Merit Badge. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Oh So Not Zen. http://rayeofsunshine.blogspot.com/2010/12/ninety-days-almost.html

Sunday, December 05, 2010. Ninety Days . Almost . The apparel diet continues to the end of month three. That is 90 days of NO new clothes! The truth of the matter is that, by the strictest definition of the rules, I cheated. But in my defense I feel that I have two good reasons for my transgression. One - I had just been notified that I was about to get a full-time job. This situation is normally a valid reason to treat oneself to something new. So I cheated. Sort of . Raye of Sunshine: Garden Gone

http://rayeofsunshine.blogspot.com/2010/11/garden-gone.html

Sunday, November 28, 2010. I love the fall. I love it because of the smells that you speak of; and also because things are dying, things that you don't have to take care of anymore, and the grass stops growing.". The third day comes a frost, a killing frost. But I hated the idea of the snow taking it in a slow tortuous death through frost bite. Instead I ripped it free and sent it to its composty grave with the friends it had summered with all year. Labels: Green Thumb Merit Badge. There should be a supp...

Saturday, January 22, 2011. In really sad news, I need to get a new camera. I LOVE my camera. It is a great mix of automatic and basic programmable controls. It has a manual macro setting that I absolutely adore that has helped me capture some lovely florals. It is compact and easy to take out for the night without having to take a large handbag. It takes great sunset photos. And it is blue! The challenge has been to find the right replacement. The Boyfriend (no, wait The Fiance! Green Thumb Merit Badge.

Across the Universe by Beth Revis. The beginning of the novel starts off wonderfully. The scenes from Amy's perspective while she was still frozen were truly haunting. So much to cook and so little time to do it. No-Bake Peanut Butter and Oat Bars. February 10, 2016. There are many versions of this on Pinterest, so I’m going to give you my version. I switched up a couple of the key ingredients, and I split the oats with puffed rice. I use 1/2 C maple syrup and half honey. And since anything not considered dark chocolate is too sugary, I replaced the mini-chocolate chips with Ghirardelli Bittersweet chips. This is post-microwave and a vigorous stir. 1 C Peanut Butter.
