Archive for January, 2008. January 9, 2008. In Defense of Plant Hangers. January 8, 2008. People who think of macramé as nothing but plant holders probably don’t quite understand my fascination with it. Even the handful of people I’ve come across recently with some macramé background largely stuck to really basic jewelry and bags. If I say that’s not cat hair on the sheets will you buy it? I have a huge amount of Israeli couscous, because I really like the stuff and I forgot I already had a huge bag so I bought another huge bag when I went to the coop last week. GUESS WHAT THAT MEANS! SO MUCH. ISRAELI. COUSCOUS. IN. MY. FUTURE. I actually make a lot of this stuff because it's really just a form of pasta. It's tiny little balls of pasta. Cute. :). Had a recipe for it, so I decided to try it this past weekend. 2 tbsp vegetable oil.

Thursday, January 24, 2013. Rye Rye Rye Vegan Rye Rye. This bitch loves rye whiskey. I have tried a variety of whiskeys. I have really tried to understand what the fuck is so great about whiskey. To me, whiskey just tasted like woodsy acid. I never understood the appeal of drinking something that tastes like you're biting into a tree and it's burning your mouth with liquid chemicals. Especially when you have the option to drink something as delicious as tequila, instead. A manhattan is vegan! I would lik...

Veganspired: December 2011
http://veganspired.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 24, 2011. Product Review: HealthForce SuperFoods. So, I have an extreme update to this blog. I personally no longer follow a vegan diet. I still fully support vegan diets and I think they kick ass - in fact, I still run on a basically vegan diet but with spatterings of animal protein in there. Overall, I'd say that my experience as a vegan has taught me the importance of whole grains, a wide variety of vegetables, and the importance of trying new things. I don't know if it will make me...

Thursday, May 16, 2013. Chocolate Vegan Sugarless Truffles. Delicous alternative to traditional chocolate desserts? Here we have this nice lil' recipe from Cristina Colli. It's full of good things for you! Note: Link no longer works! I altered the ingredients a little bit. So here's what I used:. 15g shredded unsweetened coconut. Here's what you do with all that shit! 1 Place all the dry ingredients (coconut, cacao powder, flaxseeds) in a food processor and pulse to mix. Ease of Preparation: 4/5. Both of...

Monday, July 30, 2012. Cupcake Pies - Best of Both Pastry Worlds. Yes, it's 9am and I'm baking cupcake pies. Don't judge me. I am in love with that adorable Vegan Yum Yum blog, so I decided to make one of her sweet treats on my day off. Delicious and tasty cupcake pies! Those tiny pies are insanely yummy-looking. I don't like the idea of ground cherries (simply because they remind me of gooseberries which I don't like at all) so I decided to make black and blue cupcake pies! 1 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour.

Sunday, August 28, 2011. Product Review: Grapeseed Oil. I am a sucker for trying different oils. Partially because of their deliciousness, and partially because of the health benefits different ones offer. I kept hearing about grapeseed oil so I decided to just go for it. I chose Napa Valley Naturals because it was fairly inexpensive and it is made in a sustainable / eco-friendly way. I literally giggled when I poured it in the pan. Much greener than olive oil. I promised myself when I started this blog ...

Insomniac Chef: Sexy Tomato Soup
http://insomniacchef.blogspot.com/2008/03/sexy-tomato-soup.html
Tuesday, March 25, 2008. I really like soup so it's tough to play favorites, but this one. Really was amazing and as a bonus it's easy to make! We used veg stock instead of beef stock and Tofutti sour cream instead of Crème Fraiche. Otherwise, we just followed the recipe and ended up making this soup a few times a month thereafter. Insomniac Chef: Pizza and Wine
http://insomniacchef.blogspot.com/2008/02/pizza-and-wine.html
Sunday, February 24, 2008. We found ourselves hungry and in the mood for booze last night so we made ourselves an awesome pizza from scratch. Unfortunately we drank a bottle of wine while we were cooking so the photo isn't the best. Posted by Insomniac Chef. February 25, 2008 at 8:00 AM. That pizza sounds great.
