A year on a small subsistence farm. Bees getting nourishment in early spring. There still isn’t much for the bees to eat. There is a small amount of pollen coming in from the maples… but not enough to keep a hive alive. Our bees are flourishing, though. Feeding the bees sugar water. This is a controversial practice among some of the more hardcore bee people around here but i’m all for anything to keep them alive this early in the season. The recipe? They’ve been robbing the dead hive in the garden.
