Vetti Gard Turiststasjon har vore ein viktig stad for fjellfolk sidan fjellpionerane fann vegen innover Utladalen alt på 1800-talet. Edward Grieg uttalte i si tid at han vart 10 år yngre for kvar gong han besøkte Vetti - og har ein først funne vegen dit èin gong, er sjansen stor for at ein vender attende.
