Preparing for the zombie apocalypse with a fun-filled, fiber-ified life. Thanks for dropping by Yarn&Zombies! Take a look around and grab the RSS feed. To stay updated. See you around! 12 Months of Socks and a Year in Afghans. Filed under: Uncategorized — 2 Comments. January 4, 2011. The pattern, Quickie Socks. So anyway, last night I cast on Quickie Socks. This particular pattern is one of the easier ones; it’s a simple offset rib pattern, but the results are very nice! And, if I actually stick to my mo...

Archive for January, 2011. Filed under: Uncategorized — 1 Comment. January 18, 2011. Well, I’m making some headway on my Quickie socks for Euria! Let me tell you, for an easy pattern, they’ve been an absolute pain! It’s not the pattern’s fault though…it’s Euria’s big feet! And it really is incredibly stretchy! But now it&#...

Filed under: Uncategorized — 1 Comment. April 28, 2011. So this past month, the Swap Stop has done another swap, and this one is color themed! I had such a great time that I decided to join this one as well! Since I don’t have a favorite color, I picked the one I was feeling at the moment: ultra blue (or TARDIS blue).

Filed under: Uncategorized — 1 Comment. September 1, 2011. So I’ve been terrible about this package! I got it like two weeks ago and I’m only just now getting around to posting it on Ravelry. I love getting handknitted things! My partner was Lisa, and funnily enough I was spoiling her as well! Scrap yarn from the shawl.

Lucy in the Sky: April 2012

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Sunday, April 22, 2012. Having nothing to do is slightly starting to get to me, so on Wednesday I went and bought a bunch of kool-aid packets (10 for $1), read a bunch of internet tutorials and did my own yarn dying experiment. I have been obsessed with gradient yarns, so I used this tutorial. And tried my hand at making a purpley gradient first. After I took out my 2nd or 3rd skein, I realized that I needed more kool-aid and added more 2 grape/purple and 1 blue to the pot. When I was fi...

Lucy in the Sky: April 2011

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Friday, April 29, 2011. For the record. I still think superman is a tool. Thursday, April 28, 2011. What I've been up to . A photo post. Stashing . Some sock clubs, mostly yarn for sweaters. Sunday, April 10, 2011. This week I swatched. I swatched for what is probably only the second time in my whole knitting experience. I actually knit a swatch. Actually, I knit two swatches for this project. I had it in my head that I wanted to knit $5 in Paris. I'm glad I did my swatch. Especially...

Lucy in the Sky: January 2012

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Sunday, January 22, 2012. My sweater is finished. I think that it's perfect. I am honestly amazed I had buttons for the sweater too. It's rare for me to have any sort of buttons, let alone ones that are the perfect size and color without having ever planned on my sweater and my buttons matching. I could not have been happier to find those buttons. Saved me a trip out today. Sunday, January 15, 2012. A long time coming . So basically I've been a quiet hermit and leaving myself alone to my...

Lucy in the Sky: February 2011

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Monday, February 28, 2011. I had a rough few weeks Supergirl knitting definitely cheers me up. She probably can knit at super speed too. Wouldn't that be AWESOME? As far as my knitting goes, I've got nothing. ;). I do have a swap box going out today though. Monday, February 21, 2011. I did all my handwashing this morning. I just love the look of all my hand-knit socks hanging up to dry. :) The picture was so cute I decided to blog. At any rate I'm sure that I'll be frogging and restartin...

Lucy in the Sky: August 2011

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Sunday, August 14, 2011. What Would I Do Without Ravelry? My goal for the weekend was to finish my Elektra. If it weren't for Ravelry I would never have found someone else with this color of wollmeise up for trade/destash/etc. My orange options didn't quite match my beads. (See the picture if you don't believe me.) I REALLY did not want to rip out my bind off. That sounded like my best option of bad ideas. I was not a happy person. I'll be stalking my mail like a crazy person this week.

Lucy in the Sky: January 2013

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Sunday, January 27, 2013. Its the yarns fault. This morning I got a foot up on my February socks. I know I was supposed to wait until February. And I was supposed to work on either of my WIPs. . But this morning, still dazed and half asleep I grabbed my February yarn (socks that rock lightweight in foofaraw) and my February pattern (Kaylee by Gigi Silva) and sat down, rationalizing that I'd only knit the toe and then go back to the WIPs. Sunday, January 20, 2013. Knitting-wise (since tha...

Lucy in the Sky: March 2011

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Sunday, March 20, 2011. I cannot believe it's the middle of March. Comics are perfect because they're short and have a lot of pictures. It's been fun too. I used to only read a few but now, I'm addicted to the comics for the entire bat-family. Batgirl is my absolute favorite. I think it's because she reminds me of Buffy. And I miss my Buffy comics. The batman history according to Stephanie Brown:. I super love these drawings). Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Do you knit or crochet? Performance n...

Lucy in the Sky: December 2010

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Monday, December 27, 2010. No Knitting - Only Running :). I have been ill and unable to breathe and I am finally feeling better. I have signed up (along with the rest of my family) to run a 5K for the Make-a-Wish foundation. This is a cause that is very important to me for so many reasons. First of all I need the motivation to get running again. So that I can continue to be healthy and help myself on several levels. Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Sigh* Stupid "Other" holiday. See one, do one.

Lucy in the Sky: January 2011

http://lucy-knitprojects.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Lucy in the Sky. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Alright so I've had it in my mind to get on here and post, but life happens. I've been out on the weekends (mostly to the movies nothing fancy), feeling exhausted from work (because of taxes and year end accounting), and having sinus-allergy trouble (that's because the weeks alternate between high 40s and high 60s = annoying). So I did make some Knitting Plans for 2011. I actually "swapped" 12 yarns with Ronni this year. At the. S Socks from the Toe Up. I'm m...
