Vaangi Baath (Six servings). July 20, 2011. Eggplant 2 cups (diced). Mustard seed or cumin seeds 1 tsp. Cinnamon 2″ piece. Dried red chillies 5. Coriander seeds 1 tbsp. Chana dal 2 tbsp. Urad dal 1 tbsp. Desiccated coconut or grated coconut 4 tbsp. Curry leaves 5 sprigs. Tamarind 4 to 5 scales. Salt 1 tsp (heapful) or 2 level tsp. While the rice is cooking dry roast the sesame and keep aside. Powder the sesame after it cools. Transfer the mix to the cooled rice and mix well. Posted by Vibha Ganesan.

August 19, 2011. Moong dal 2 cups. Raw rice 1 handful ( cup). Chana dal 1 handful. Ginger 1″ piece (shred to small pieces). Coconut grated 2 tbsp. Onion 1 big ( Finely cut). Curry leaves 3 sprigs. Coriander leaves 2 tbsp (Finely chopped). Soak the dals and rice in a bowl for about 2 hours. July 29, 2013. Cherry tomato 20 or 25 Green chilli 3 Corn kernels (frozen or fresh) cup Cilantro (finely chopped) 3 tbsp Lemon juice 1 tbsp Pepper powder tsp Salt tsp or to taste Method. Stone the chillies and dice then finely. Add a pinch of salt to corn take in a bowl and add chillies to it. Blanch them for a minute or two in microwave oven and cool it. In a bowl add the halved tomatoes, blanched corn/chilli, salt, cilantro, pepper and add lemon juice. Mix very well and chill for 30 minutes at least.

Tomato Kurma (4 Servings). July 25, 2011. 6 medium-sized tomatoes (350 gm). 2 big onions (Indian size). 1″ cinnamon stick. Cashew nut 10 OR Roasted Bengal gram 2 tsp. Coriander seeds 1 tsp. Poppy seeds 1 tsp. Fennel seeds 1 tsp. Cumin seeds 1 tsp. Cream or yogurt 2 tbsp (Optional). Blanch the tomatoes and puree in a blender. Cook the onions with a little water and blend to a paste.
