Wetox 2010 - Using science to address today's pollution problems
http://wetox.co.nz/sludge.html
Sludge is a by-product of a wastewater treatment process and just about every wastewater treatment plant makes it and it needs to be disposed of. There is a need to find a permanent solution. Wetox is the scientific solution, which not only eliminates the sludge but produces clean water and other useful chemical products from the waste as well as recovering valuable mineral resources. The NZ waste minimisation goal is to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill by around 50% within the next few years.

Wetox 2010 - Using science to address today's pollution problems
http://wetox.co.nz/solution.html
Wetox turns sludge into water and valuable by-products. What makes Wetox Work? Sludge is pumped to a pre-treatment tank where various chemicals including the catalyst are added. It is then pumped into the reaction chamber with air where the high temperatures cause the organics to break down into base components, and the water is vaporized along with some carboxylic acid products. The water in the form of steam can be used to turn a turbine producing energy. This is illustrated by the graph, where it can ...
