Sunday, October 20, 2013. Birthday Bliss : ). My 26th year is off to a great start! Genna made an authentic Anne Nelson Apple Pie on my birthday, It looks like it went up in flames, but don't worry it was just the flash. Over the weekend we stayed in a cute cabin and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors in the mountains. Blowing out my mountain cheese birthday "cake". A huge thanks to Genna, Adrian, Iza and Kat for organizing the amazing weekend! Labels: Life in Poland. After 2 crazy roommates this year we ...

Connect with Kwa Kwa: November 2012
http://connectwithkwakwa.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 15, 2012. Since moving to Poland I have learned a lot of random stuff but, one of my favorites is that you don't need a muffin pan to make muffins! We bought this muffin mix with the thought that we would make it into bread, but then we looked at the directions we realized they don't use a muffin tins here! I was skeptical when putting the batter in the first few. I thought it was going to pour out and make a mess but, it works! Labels: Life in Poland. Wednesday, November 14, 2012.

Connect with Kwa Kwa: January 2013
http://connectwithkwakwa.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 30, 2013. As many of you know, over Christmas break Genna and I took a trip to Munich. By car it is about 7 hour drive. By train it was going to take about 22 hours and we would have had to change trains several times. The best option we found was taking a bus. It took 17 hours. We used Sindbad bus company. They were great! We just had to change busses once and they were super helpful and made sure we got on the right bus, even though it was clearly marked. We were pretty much zombies ...

Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Learning to use our washing machine has been a challenge. At first when we "washed" clothes, when cycle was finished our clothes were still dry. We tried pushing some buttons and turning the dials until it started again. Once it stopped after over an hour of washing the washer would still be full of water. So we would turn the dial again until it started back up. Finally after literally, hours in the machine our clothes would be clean. Labels: Life in Poland. After touring the ...

Thursday, September 27, 2012. Not so Green Thumb. Our first shopping trip Genna and I decided to buy a basil plant because we both love basil and they didn't sell it fresh. It can't be that hard to keep alive right? This is what the plant looked like this morning! I guess I should have watered it about 5 days ago. I'm still hoping that it perks back up, but I'm not so sure it will. Labels: Life in Poland. Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. On Friday we got to the town where our H...

Monday, May 20, 2013. Visiting the Lewerenz Family. Genna's brother is in Ecuador on exchange for the year. His best friend in Ecuador is Jan. Jan is from Hemer, Germany. When Jan heard we were going to be back in Germany he invited us to visit his family. It worked out great because we went there on Tuesday night and Wednesday was Labor day so they had a free day. Jan's little sister is adorable! The Lewerenz's were amazing. We loved our day in Hemer! A HUGE thank you to Frank and Tanja! In celebration ...

Wednesday, March 13, 2013. The view from the top! Ended the trip with my favorite meal in Paris (sorry Chipotle, you were a close second). The fresh squeezed orange juice was unforgettable. My salad was delicious and the adorable retired couple we sat next to were great company. A great ending to an awesome trip. It's hard to believe our trip to Paris was already a month ago! It exceeded all of my expectations. Paris is an amazing city. It definitely lived up to the hype. Well done Paris! It was very col...

Saturday, February 1, 2014. Where has the time gone? I clearly have not been in the habit of blogging this year. Monday marks the start of the second half of the school year. I hope this new semester brings new motivation to share pictures and stories from this little adventure. So far this school year we have been to Budapest, Dublin, London, York, Edinburgh, and Barcelona! Every city has been unforgettable. It is just too much for one post so, I will have to keep posting to get caught up! Over Christma...

Connect with Kwa Kwa: Beautiful Budapest
http://connectwithkwakwa.blogspot.com/2014/02/beautiful-budapest.html
Sunday, February 2, 2014. We had November 1st off of school for All Saints Day. On Halloween night we took the train to Budapest. It was our first time in a sleeper car and I found it surprisingly easy to sleep. It was a great way to travel after many overnight bus rides that have been less than comfortable. The food in Budapest was rich, warm and perfect for a fall weekend. This garlic soup was my favorite it was served with a piece of fried bread that had cheese and sour cream on top. I am spending the...
