Reenactment is hard to pull off (Low Budget Productions) but when you do it’s fantastic. I’m currently involved in creating six short documentaries about Idaho Springs early days. The first one was easy, we whittled down our feature film “ IDAHOE. 8221; from 70 minutes to 6 minutes, added a new beginning and ending and cut out all the drama and comedy, the results are below. I literally took a walk from my house thru central Idaho Springs with my trusty Z18. More vids can be seen at my Youtube Channel.

Underhill was a Harvard graduate who wrote a number of books on surveying. He surveyed many of the city plots and mines in and around Idaho Springs. He was also a professor at the Colorado School of Mines, and it is worth noting that he was the first person in Colorado to earn his doctorate in geology.
