Visual Politics FYS

The student blog for Drake University first year seminar entitled Visual Politics. Wednesday, November 10, 2010. The overall coverage of the election was presented poorly in my eyes. I feel the blue and red colors on the screen were representing the democratic and republican sides. It was as if they were showing a game or competition instead of covering a election. Of course there will always be sides within politics, but shouldn't we focus more on what is best for our country? Tuesday, November 9, 2010.

Visual Politics FYS: Changes..

http://visualpoliticsfys.blogspot.com/2010/11/changes.html

The student blog for Drake University first year seminar entitled Visual Politics. Monday, November 8, 2010. To review the election coverage before posting I watched The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Yes, I will admit that is the only way I can watch anything political without being incredibly bored. I appreciate how their humorous (how many ways can we mock technology other stations are “trying” to use? To watch Jon Stewart's live coverage click below. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Visual Politics FYS: The Midterm Election's Consequences

http://visualpoliticsfys.blogspot.com/2010/11/midterm-elections-consequences.html

The student blog for Drake University first year seminar entitled Visual Politics. Tuesday, November 9, 2010. The Midterm Election's Consequences. The news coverage that I watched came from. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Is everything in today’s society about being the most advanced technologically? I think that news stations should focus more of their attention on the issues, and the information they are providing the public instead of coming up with savvy new ways of displaying election results.

Visual Politics FYS: A Common Goal

http://visualpoliticsfys.blogspot.com/2010/11/common-goal.html

The student blog for Drake University first year seminar entitled Visual Politics. Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Should we focus less on what team the person plays for and more on what they stand for and can do to better this nation? That seems better than just rooting for one side to win, especially when some people on that side may differ greatly from others. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Campaign for America's Future. The student blog for Drake University first year seminar entitled Visual Politics. Monday, November 8, 2010. This repeats itself all over the nation, the Democrats run up the margins in major cities while the Republicans run up even bigger margins in the rural counties. In the Nevada Senate race, Harry Reid won three counties to Sharron Angle’s twelve. This brings up problems for the Republican Party in the future. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Visual War on Women: Check out yesterday’s BagNewsSalon, held for the first time in Google Hangout! Visual takeaways from Obama’s new doc. Teamrhetoric @TPM has a nice piece on the Five Big Takeaways from Obama’s Documentary. I would add this about the visual choices: The framing of Obama as the lone man in the Oval Office, making all the decisions, is the visual touchstone of the narrative. Wednesday, May 14, 2003. Http:/ www.dailystarnews.com/200211/15/n2111501.htm#BODY2. You may look out for the azure in the expanse of the heavens or the lush green of the trees in this choking city of concrete. You might be craving to see the twinkling stars at night. You'd better forget about that. No less than 6,949 of different types of billboards in the city have been erected with the approval of the Dhaka City Corporation (DCC). However, unauthorised billboards outnumber them by far. The major city t...
