Roving for Winter Field Day and SOTA – June 2015. Field Days provide a great opportunity to get out and operate portable, and combining that with SOTA is very attractive. In Winter the SOTA bonus kicks in for those 1200m peaks making it irresistible. Planned 3 summits in the first 24 hrs for this trip allowing entry as a Rover station in the VHF-UHF Field Day. I bought a Power Supply at the ARNSW equipment sales. http:/ www.arnsw.org.au/html/page disposals.html. The Yaesu FP-12 Power Supply is a 13.8 volt 12 amp, 16 amp peak, mains supply, including an elliptical speaker, made in Japan in 1980. On top, held down with a Velcro strap, is my Yaesu Ft-8800 2m/70cm transceiver.
