Sculpting A Life: The Land of Don't Know.
http://sculptingalife.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-land-of-don-know.html
With passion, joy and creativity. Thursday, July 23, 2015. The Land of Dont Know. I'd like to say, I'm burned out. That would be easier do deal with, understand and get beyond. But I'm not. I'm in that no-mans land of 'I don't know'. But it seems that the more I do, the less I know. Where do I go from here? Do I change what I make? Choose different colors or shapes or items to make? Give up on functional work and concentrate on sculptural? Do I lower my prices(which are already low, I'm told)? I work in ...

Sculpting A Life: A Very Good Dog and Very Bad News.
http://sculptingalife.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-very-good-dog-and-very-bad-news.html
With passion, joy and creativity. Thursday, February 26, 2015. A Very Good Dog and Very Bad News. Jilly is my dear, sweet, yellow Labrador. She is my walking buddy, my studio assistant and my home companion. She has been in my life for almost all of hers because, well, she's Jilly. We walked and worked and trained. I wrote about it here. I just didn't think it would be this bad.not for my very good dog. I don't feel I have a right to write about death, somehow. I don't know why. Many people have ...But I...

Sculpting A Life: July 2015
http://sculptingalife.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
With passion, joy and creativity. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Jilly is as Silly as Ever! I am so, so happy to report that my sweet, ten-year old yellow lab, Jilly is still living! In February, the vets found a mass on her spleen. They gave her 3-4 months with or without a tricky surgery and a few more months with chemo. I wrote about it here. After much consideration, we decided to give Jilly the best quality of life with the life she had left. And she is living the life! Links to this post. It was challeng...

Sculpting A Life: March 2015
http://sculptingalife.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
With passion, joy and creativity. Thursday, March 26, 2015. It's Spring Break in my neck of the woods and for many that means taking time off school or work. Since I work for myself, asking myself for a vacation can get a little awkward. And, unfortunately, the conversation doesn't always go well. Artist me to Boss me, "Ah, it's Spring Break, so I was wondering about taking a few days off? Boss me to Artist me, "You don't need a Spring Break. You're an artist, you play everyday.". Sure I fear that my cla...

Sculpting A Life: January 2015
http://sculptingalife.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
With passion, joy and creativity. Thursday, January 29, 2015. As The Wheel Turns: Imperfectly Perfect. As an artist, perfection is not the goal. Or is it? A work of art is, in fact, work. Making art is a work process requiring concentration, dedication and physical labor. The art work, whether it's a painting, mug, mask, script, novel, movie, musical performance or blog, is a tangible product. And the product is subject to scrutiny and evaluation. That, I saw clearly, is the true question. And, the a...

Sculpting A Life: Social Media: To Tweet or not To Tweet?
http://sculptingalife.blogspot.com/2015/08/social-media-to-tweet-or-not-to-tweet.html
With passion, joy and creativity. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Social Media: To Tweet or not To Tweet? One of the first social media sites I opened was Twitter. It sounded like a good idea at the time, especially since I love to write as much as I love to throw and paint. That's why we eat separate meals each day. And why different social media can be different and still be viable and competitive. Anyway.I got a Twitter account. And I tried, really I tried. I've tweeted twice in 8 years. Now, my husband and...

Sculpting A Life: A Walk in the Wild Woods.
http://sculptingalife.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-walk-in-wild-woods.html
With passion, joy and creativity. Thursday, July 16, 2015. A Walk in the Wild Woods. I wasn't working in the studio this week. I was enjoying the life that lives outside it. Now, there's a workaholic side of me that is very uncomfortable with taking time off. The judge in my head bangs the gavel of shame and guilt sentencing me to do more time and work harder to make up for it. I know the truth. Playing inspires creativity. Clearing the trail, cleared my mind. Walking in the woods. I work in clay, window...

Sculpting A Life: December 2014
http://sculptingalife.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
With passion, joy and creativity. Friday, December 26, 2014. Christmas: The Day After. It was a fun and different Christmas holiday this year. This year, all the 'children' were in town and off work and old enough now to go out to an adult lunch at a downtown brew pub. We sampled the new brews, ate our choice of pub grub and talked about news and sports and, yes, even politics. It was relaxing, hilarious and yummy. Ok, I still have to tidy up but that's fine by me. Links to this post. Flow is my word of ...
