Volunteer San Diego's Blog. Change yourself. Change your world. Volunteer. 8 billion hours served and why it’s important to me. August 22, 2011. And how about California? I have yet to dig up those stats, but I’m hopeful we have done our fair share and, of course, that Volunteer San Diego will continue to play a contributing role to that sentiment. What struck me most about this piece came next. The article stated:. Smiling wide, I found myself feeling an overwhelming amount of joy and satisfaction.

The Daily Act: The Milk Dud Story.
http://thedailyact.blogspot.com/2011/03/milk-dud-story.html
I wake up every day with a personal quest to do at least one act of kindness. This blog shares my adventures with you. I hope you enjoy and may find it within yourself to "do good" too. Saturday, March 5, 2011. The Milk Dud Story. I had a moment last night that I think is worthy of sharing. As he was putting his $0.50 change in his pocket he said to me, "God Bless you." He then started to walk away without his Milk Duds so I laughed and reminded him to not forget his candy! March 5, 2011 at 11:07 AM.

About Me | Clipboard Activist
https://clipboardactivist.wordpress.com/about
I’m not a chain-yourself-to-a-bulldozer or argue-with-people-who-could-arrest-or-injure-you kind of activist. They impress and inspire me to no end, but I’m just not that kind of activist. I embrace a more subtle form of activism. I fly under the radar; I work behind the curtain. I’m an activist with infrastructure-building skills like no other. I’m not sure what that superhero action figure looks like, but I’m sure she carries a clipboard. September 27, 2011 at 7:40 AM. Love your blog Sarah!

https://clipboardactivist.wordpress.com/2011/10/10/the-freedom-of-being-“just-a-volunteer”
What’s one less? The freedom of being just a volunteer. October 10, 2011. However, much to my own surprise lately, I’ve caught myself saying, It’s okay; I’m just a volunteer anyway. And, I have come to find a certain freedom in it. 1) I learn I am not fantastic at the task at hand, so know to try something else next time. At a benefit concert. 2) I don’t excel immediately, but with repetition, grow more comfortable with an activity. 3) I am pleasantly surprised and find a new favorite volunteer project.

The freedom of being just a volunteer →. What’s one less? September 26, 2011. Hundreds of activists at the Paddle For Clean Water. I once had a debate with a co-worker about the importance of signing petitions and writing to elected officials. His stance posed the age-old question, I’m just one person. What difference does one letter make? It’s a good question. How much does that one call, letter, signature, etc. matter? What if we all thought our one vote, signature, call or letter didn’t matter? I thin...
