Living by the Meter. Wednesday, July 26, 2006. Slow acting carbs rock my world. So in keeping with this little experiment I went out and bought some more of those wonder bars. ;). Breakfast this morning jumped my BG to 130 but by 10:30am I was down to 67 (oops) lower then I aim for. Ate my yogurt and half a Atkins bar and up I went to 97….ate lunch at noon (sandwich and the other half of the Atkins bar) and right now I’m at 82. This is kind of cool…. Links to this post. I also cannot stop smoking. I just bought the "patch" which i will start on Saturday after a trip to Vegas. (there is no way to quit smoking in Vegas! I'm glad you love the haircut. I'm also going to have to buy new bras. Such a sad discussion. Alas. Love the post! That sounds like my hair! I used to perm mine, too, which is crazy!

Living by the Meter. Tuesday, August 15, 2006. In the big scheme of things…. Diabetes is no big deal. It could be so much worse. I could have lymphoma like Anthea who lost her very short battle with it on Friday. And we moved her to hospice…. and we took turns being with her…. and she made her wishes known…. and we talked and talked about all our wayward plans….and we cried and we laughed and we hugged….and she died. Cancer sucks and in the big scheme of things diabetes is ‘doable’. Oh, I'm so sorry!

Tonight I head to Donna’s…. then tomorrow I’m getting my haircut (because it’s down to my waist and I’m sick of it being that long) then I’m going to go to Lisa’s and drop off Sweetness and light…. dinner with the daughter then back to Joyce’s and in the hot tub with a glass of wine. Oh and in the middle of having a ‘Me-fest’…tomorrow is my quit smoking date. We’ll see how that goes. Happy Birthday, girl! Don't cry "I need help!
