What Sara Says: April 2011
http://thewhatsarasays.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 29, 2011. Photo of the Week - Challenge. As we were driving down to Portland last weekend, we had a breath taking view of Mt. Rainier and for the first time ever on our drive south, I caught a glimpse of Mt. St. Helens. It wasn't the first time I'd seen the mountain, but I've never seen it from I-5, it's always been either dark or covered with clouds. I was pretty excited. Disclaimer.I did not take any of these pictures. Thursday, April 28, 2011. Bike to work Month starts Monday. And Group ...

What Sara Says: Herding Big Horn Sheep
http://thewhatsarasays.blogspot.com/2011/09/herding-big-horn-sheep.html
Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Herding Big Horn Sheep. On the second day my husband and I were in Glacier, we got up early to take some pictures while the morning light was still clear. Afterwards we headed up to the Logan Pass Visitors center to use the restroom before our big hike for the day. When we arrived, there were several Big Horn Sheep grazing in a meadow beside the visitor's center. When they did come back into the parking lot however, my husband interpreted this to mean that he should get in hi...

What Sara Says: Cake Eight: Old Fashioned Crazy Cake
http://thewhatsarasays.blogspot.com/2011/08/cake-eight-old-fashioned-crazy-cake.html
Monday, August 29, 2011. Cake Eight: Old Fashioned Crazy Cake. This cake is apparently a cake that has been around since World War II. When eggs were rationed. Today we can call it a Vegan cake, that is if you make a frosting without butter, milk or eggs. This was the easiest cake I've made by far and you'll see why in a moment, because for the first time I'm going to provide the recipe. That's right! 1 1/2 cups spooned and leveled unbleached all-purpose flour. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder. My favorite ...

What Sara Says: April 2012
http://thewhatsarasays.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 8, 2012. I grew up in a faith tradition and family for which Easter is a big deal. The wake up at six AM to go to sunrise service kind of big deal. For a variety of reasons, in the past several years I've grown away from my Christian practice. Not the values or beliefs so much as the act of going to church and participating in a Christian community intentionally. Mostly this has to do with a lack of fulfillment for me. At Easter we celebrate the rising of Christ from the dead, by which he s...

What Sara Says: December 2010
http://thewhatsarasays.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 25, 2010. Twenty Five: Spend time with Family. When I say family, I don't only mean the people that you are related to, I also mean those people in your life who come to feel like family. It's important all year, to value that set of people who are there for you no matter what and accept you for who you are. But I feel that this time of year, sometimes we can forget that the whole point of the season is to slow down and appreciate the ones you love and be thankful for what we have.

What Sara Says: Why I've been silent
http://thewhatsarasays.blogspot.com/2011/09/vacation-in-pictures.html
Monday, September 12, 2011. Why I've been silent. Apples we picked and peaches we bought. I just ate the blueberries, but those raspberries are jam. To make up for the mostly missed week, I'm going to try and post double this week. Partially because I have a lot of photos from our vacation I want to share with you. I turn my jam upside down to seal it,. Sometimes it makes the jam stick to the top. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Read What Sara Says by Email. Not So Humble Pie.

What Sara Says: Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta
http://thewhatsarasays.blogspot.com/2011/09/waterton-lakes-national-park-alberta.html
Monday, September 12, 2011. Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta. The prairie comes right up to the outside of the park. If camping isn't your thing, there were plenty of small cabins that looked like rentals, and there's always the historic Prince of Wales Chalet, one of the Chalet's built by the Great Northern Railroad as part of the "See America First" campaign in the early 1900's. Prince of Wale Chalet. It was a great first stop for our trip. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hyperbole and a Half.
