Children are entitled to start school on the day of their fifth birthday. It is desirable that your child has familiarization visits prior to starting school. Please contact school at least four weeks before your child is due to start school so that pre-school visits can be arranged. When you enrol your child you will be asked to fill in forms providing the necessary information as follows:. Copy of Birth Certificate. Medical history form for the Ministry of Health. One To One Teaching Consent Form.

I moved to Waimate from Christchurch at the start of 2015, when I started teaching at Waituna Creek School. I am in my third year teaching, having worked in the electricity industry prior to my teacher training. I love being part of a small, rural school and have enjoyed getting to know our akonga and whanau since I moved here. Mrs Jane Simonsen (Dp). Waituna is a wonderful little community and it is a delight to be a part of that through the school.

Waituna Creek School have a small but very dedicated group pf parents who met once a month, during the school terms. During these meetings we create ideas for fundraising, social events and every 2 years the school Pet Day. Over the past 3 years we have held the Duck Dinner and Dance, which has provided funding for Teacher Aids or a morning Teacher. However this year, 2016 we are now able to provided funds back into the school of new equipment. Everyone is welcome to attend meetings on the second Tuesday.
