Welcome to the 5laughterhouse. A completely biased view of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five. Sunday, 17 April 2011. Welcome to the Tralfamadore Zoo. Welcome to the Tralfamadore International Zoo. Please keep your hand and eye in the shuttle at all times. Although all of you already know what's in store, please try to act mildly surprised when you see all the creatures. As I'm sure you all know, the next territory is that of the Na'vi. The Na'vi are among the tallest creatures we have at our zoo, reachi...

Welcome to the 5laughterhouse: The Limits of Billy
http://5laughterhouse.blogspot.com/2011/04/limits-of-billy.html
Welcome to the 5laughterhouse. A completely biased view of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five. Saturday, 16 April 2011. The Limits of Billy. That I watched an hour ago, provided a fresh grasp at exactly how Billy Pilgrim must have been feeling as he traveled in time . The part that I am referring to about is when Eddie Mora overdoses on the fictional drug 'NZT'. I have a feeling that as a side-effect of the brain-damage Billy is experiencing close to what Eddie Mora is once he overdoses on the drug: gaps in ...

Welcome to the 5laughterhouse: Questions with Unquestioning Faith

Welcome to the 5laughterhouse. A completely biased view of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five. Friday, 1 April 2011. Questions with Unquestioning Faith. Say what you will about the sweet miracle of unquestioning faith, I consider a capacity for it terrifying and absolutely vile! Vonnegut certainly thinks so. In my opinion, Religion is something that is inherited. Passed down from father to son, from mother to daughter. And I think that this causes a lot of havoc. A child should never. It is quite clear to me...

Time, time, time again. Seventeen is too young to be messed with. All moments, past, present, and future, always have existed, and always will exist.". 3 On Censorship in Literature [edited]. Literature that raises eyebrows, that causes controversies, especially in the twenty-first century, should be censored or withheld. A lot of people will probably disagree with my opinion, but I have my reasoning. For controversial literature to not be censored, to not be withheld, seems dangerous to me. Songs th...

Welcome to the 5laughterhouse. A completely biased view of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five. Monday, 28 February 2011. Like Bugs Trapped in Amber? Are our lives predetermined or are we free to make our own choices? Is it just me, or is this question awkwardly similar to the one about the chicken and the egg? Fate is used to explain any and every event that takes place. Among those who beleive in fate are the Tralfamadorians, who try to convince Billy that "There is no. Welcome to the 5laughterhouse: So it DOESN'T go
http://5laughterhouse.blogspot.com/2011/04/so-it-doesnt-go.html
Welcome to the 5laughterhouse. A completely biased view of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five. Sunday, 17 April 2011. So it DOESN'T go. Vonnegut's text is littered with filler such as recycled jokes that are funny at first, grow old and older and yet even older. This is the dark humor that many people find Vonnegut has and is part of his style. However, I think its more recycled filler. So it doesn't go (with so it goes). This is the 5laughterhouse.
