Walking Seattle Neighborhoods: Alki, North Admiral and the Alki Art Fair

http://walkingseattle.blogspot.com/2013/07/alki-north-admiral-and-alki-art-fair.html

Sunday, July 21, 2013. Alki, North Admiral and the Alki Art Fair. Today, my husband and I went to the Alki Art Fair. And walked a 7 mile circuit that included streets in the Alki and North Admiral neighborhoods of West Seattle. The sun came out and we enjoyed great views as we walked towards Alki Point, the westernmost area of Seattle. We started our walk in the North Admiral area and it appeared that a garden tour. We continued west to the Alki Lighthouse. We came to the Charles Richey, Sr. Viewpoint.

Walking Seattle Neighborhoods: Alki and Genesee Neighborhoods of West Seattle

http://walkingseattle.blogspot.com/2013/01/alki-and-genesee-neighborhoods-of-west.html

Thursday, January 17, 2013. Alki and Genesee Neighborhoods of West Seattle. The fog never burned off this morning as my husband and I walked 4.9 miles in the quiet Alki and Genesee neighborhoods of West Seattle. The streets in this area are almost a grid but we still took a roundabout walk (there may be something about West Seattle that makes me meander) starting in the Alki neighborhood overlooking Me-Kwa-Mooks Park. And homes and one of the nicest monkey tail (araucaria araucana) trees I've ever seen.

Walking Seattle Neighborhoods: My goal

http://walkingseattle.blogspot.com/p/my-goal.html

As my friend (P) and I walked 7 miles to my downtown office early one morning a few years ago, I realized how much of the city I miss by driving or riding public transit. I've lived in Seattle for over 30 years and don't know too many neighborhoods really well. I love walking and decided that I would eventually walk every street in the city of Seattle. This blog will attempt to record my observations. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Seattle Gems and Walk Discoveries. Index of Walks by Neighborhood.

Walking Seattle Neighborhoods: Adams Neighborhood of Ballard

http://walkingseattle.blogspot.com/2012/06/adams-neighborhood-of-ballard.html

Friday, June 1, 2012. Adams Neighborhood of Ballard. Today's 7.7 mile walk in the Adams neighborhood of Ballard brought home to me just how diverse this area is. I started near NW 65th Street and 15th Avenue NW and walked south. 15th is a busy avenue but the side streets near 65th are quiet and tree lined with many single family homes. It appeared that some of the older homes have new houses in what were probably once back yards. Finally, I arrived at the industrial area adjacent to Salmon Bay. And a Lit...

Next Stop, Insanity: Another Profound Moment

http://sydney-b.blogspot.com/2011/02/another-profound-moment.html

Next Stop, Insanity. A random string of incoherent thoughts, brought to you by that mass of tissue I call my brain. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Every now and then I ponder the ultimate question: What is our purpose as humans? Or more specifically, what is my purpose here on this earth, in this life? To get even more specific, I’ve been pondering a lot what is my purpose now and what has been my purpose of the places I am for the last 8 years. What has been the point and what have I learned? I feel truly ...

Next Stop, Insanity. A random string of incoherent thoughts, brought to you by that mass of tissue I call my brain. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. A Success at Failure. The Self Saboteur Recognized. I had a good conversation with my MIL and my SIL on Friday. We all seem to have our life problems and sometimes it’s really nice to just air those problems. Funnily enough, we all seem to share some similar life obstacles. I admit it, I am a self sabatager. (hey, I just made up a new word! The latest sabotage pot...

Next Stop, Insanity: Thanksgiving Flashback (not to be confused with Flash Dance)

http://sydney-b.blogspot.com/2009/10/thanksgiving-flashback-not-to-be.html

Next Stop, Insanity. A random string of incoherent thoughts, brought to you by that mass of tissue I call my brain. Monday, October 26, 2009. Thanksgiving Flashback (not to be confused with Flash Dance). Is my bitterness showing yet? Where is this story leading, you might ask? We got to sit out in the living room. I think it was a cleaver ploy of my Grandparents doing. Then they didn’t have to listen to us all complain if we didn’t like the food this year…. What did we get that year for Dinner? Truly it ...
