Walking Through the Woods

Walking Through the Woods. Notes on life at Bramblewood Farm and beyond. Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Life got really busy there for awhile after my last post. Even with some relaxing down time, I got out of the blog habit. I have been writing in my journal, which is satisfying in a different way than blogging, but I do miss the very visual aspect of the blog. Things got really crazy when on August 22, I took a new job as the Head Cook and Food Manager for Skamania County's Senior Services Food Program.

Walking Through the Woods: June 2011

http://walkingthroughthewoods.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Walking Through the Woods. Notes on life at Bramblewood Farm and beyond. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Thursday, June 9, 2011. Things are moving right along with the house. The crew worked right through Memorial Day weekend to lay the floor joists, some plumbing (mostly drainage) and get the frame up:. June 1st saw the rafters and roof sheathing go up. It's starting to look like a real house! We visited today and Darin had finished the wrapping and was installing the windows. Bonny came to visit in February an...

Walking Through the Woods: January 2011

http://walkingthroughthewoods.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Walking Through the Woods. Notes on life at Bramblewood Farm and beyond. Monday, January 17, 2011. The Lakenvelder has laid nary an egg for the last several weeks, while the Black Stars and Light Brahma continue to lay one every day or every other day at least. Her eggs are very pretty though, they are a white egg called "tinted"; we like to call it "pearl". My picture just doesn't do them justice. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Walking Through the Woods: May 2011

http://walkingthroughthewoods.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Walking Through the Woods. Notes on life at Bramblewood Farm and beyond. Wednesday, May 25, 2011. We were pleasantly surprised today by the presence of cement mixing and pouring equipment, as well as a whole crew of workers out at Bramblewood. They poured the footing for the house and the foundation for the well pump house. We came back later after they had finished. They did this all in one day. Pretty amazing. Monday, May 23, 2011. I'm just hoping it goes fairly smoothly and nobody gets terribly victim...

Walking Through the Woods: Interior paint

http://walkingthroughthewoods.blogspot.com/2011/07/interior-paint.html

Walking Through the Woods. Notes on life at Bramblewood Farm and beyond. Tuesday, July 12, 2011. The sheetrocking was completed on June 30, and then it was our turn to work on the house; interior painting. What a job! It's nice to have a strong young man for a son who doesn't even need the extension wand to paint ceilings. (I did recommend it nonetheless, but he enjoyed doing it this way also):. Aidan takes a break from painting to make a cleaver belt:. I will have to post more pictures later. :). Kid's ...

Laila Bear's Love Spot

Laila Bear's Love Spot. Thursday, December 4, 2014. Tomorrow I go in for yet, another, D&C. This will be my second D&C, and my third miscarriage. I'm having a hard time accepting that after tomorrow the child I have carried for 8 weeks, will no longer be apart of my physical body. I haven't wrote on here for at least a year, actually almost two. I wish I had some great reason why, but honestly, I just forgot my password and kept forgetting to retrieve it. That was an incredible jump from 17 to 28! The da...

Since 2004, Dave Whitson has organized and run dynamic summer experiences for students in Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, South Africa, Chile, and Argentina. These trips generally fall into two categories: Walking Through Time pilgrimages following medieval routes and Legacy Project programs devoted to transitional justice. Walking through Transitions

Monday, August 10, 2015. The Music of being an Empath. That's one of the wonderful things about being an empath, of being able to feel so much. My valleys have been deep and dark, and now the mountains I am climbing are majestic. There is no dearth of drama, no shortage of adventures of the soul. Maybe this is what I signed up for. What does it mean to be an empath? And yet, as I trust some of my knowings, some of the things that I am sensing, my faith in my ability to know deepens. Now is the time to go...
