Barb and Charl's Long Distance Walks. In 1996, Charlie and I, aged 50 and 53 respectively and only of moderate fitness, took it into our heads to take up backpacking. We had only began camping the year before. In 1997 we completed the Coast to Coast long distance walk. Since then, we have completed a further six and have more planned.
