Wamego Life Class in Art. Using Up Used Materials! Friday, December 18, 2009. Thank you to our local businesses that provided us with materials for this project; also to teacher Mr. Johnson for cutting our wood sticks from scrap. Wamego Life Class in Art. Using Up Used Materials! Monday, May 10, 2010. Students have been using cereal boxes, buttons, old fabric, etc to construct some paper mache sailboats. Stitching cloth to a wooden skewer with a needle and thread proved rather difficult for some of them but they have prevailed. Here are some pics- painting some of their boats. more to come! They also learned practical applications with a needle- how to thread a needle with thread, embroidery floss, and yarn (although some of them still are unsure of where and how to tie the knot)!
