Thursday, March 1, 2012. Over the past two weeks, I have been getting a taste for more of our easier terrain around the Front Range. Conditions have been windy, and there are big big slabs waiting to crush down on many leeward mountain aspects. In conditions like this, I like to play it safe, especially when skiing alone. Skiing ideal, Hidden Valley. From Colorado Mines Peak, looking southwest. Conditions approaching the top of Colorado Mines Peak, windblown and scrubby. Making my way up at hidden valley.

A short stroll up the road brought us to Skylight One Hanson, formerly the Williamsburg Savings Bank – despite being in Fort Greene – where the Brooklyn Flea Markets (which i've talked about before) move in winter. The building itself is stunning, with the most beautiful ceiling I've seen outside of a church since Grand Central Station. The market was hugely busy and my Mr was getting hungry, so we headed downstairs to find some food. First a slow smoked Texas style brisket sandwich. Oh, the humanity!
