Thirteen Zodiac Animals (in the order of Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig, and Lark) live in their extravagant palace above the sky. From this remote distance, twelve of the animals install personalities in human newborns. Anne Babson is a librettist and an internationally published prize-winning writer. Her libretto for Su Lian Tan’s opera Lotus Lives was debuted in 2012 at Middlebury College in the context of a performance by chamber orchestra Meridian Arts Ensemble.
