Tuesday, 29 January 2013. We watched 32 Snipe drop into the lagoon area, other birds of note include a wintering Spotted Redshank,. And a female Marsh Harrier. On the river amongst the Brent Geese was a Black Brant. Monday, 28 January 2013. Trimley Marshes and Levington Lagoon. 27/2801.2013 Trimley Marshes - s. Everal thousand duck have returned to the reservoir following the recent quick thaw. Other observations include Bittern, Buzzard, Peregrine and drake Scaup. At Levington Lagoon. SWT LOW WATER COUNT.

Tuesday, 28 August 2012. Whilst I was surveying today I found several new Wasp spider colonies and good numbers of Long-winged and Short-winged Coneheads. Monday, 27 August 2012. I was out surveying this morning for a few hours and noticed that there were lots of fresh Red Admirals on the wing. I also found some Dark Bush-crickets. Red Admiral on nettle. Friday, 30 November 2012. Despite our nets being up were up before day light we did not catch many birds, a few more Blackbirds, several Greenfinches and a Chaffinch. Birding was more fruitful with hundreds of wildfowl, a wintering Ruff, Marsh Harrier, 6 Egyptian Geese and a Bullfinch. There was also a Short-eared Owl on the reserve, which we did not get to see. I left Ipswich at 0530 hrs and the temperature was zero, picked up Anna and by the time we had arrived at Trimley we were in thick fog and everywhere was cloaked in a heavy frost. After a very cold start to the day in turned out warm and sunny. The reserve was alive with birds, noisy and a there was a great deal of activity. Tuesday, 31 July 2012. I had a very enjoyable walk at the coast today albeit in rain. Many of the plants were going over but nevertheless still stunning. I found a Reed Buntings nest which held four eggs and I ringed a late brood of Avocet chicks. Reed Buntings nest with four eggs. Yellow Horned poppy and Sea Pea. Monday, 23 July 2012.
