About – watch mego mom
https://watchmegomomblog.wordpress.com/about
Surviving the chaos of motherhood with coffee, optimism, and a dash of sarcasm. I’m Megan or Meg or Mego (hence the blog name). I’m a new mama to a baby boy and a fur mom to a crazy pup. I’m also a wife to a great hubby. I’m a runner and it is my sanity to deal with the craziness of life. Lover of reading, Netflix, good food, travel, endless coffee. I’m currently in school working on a second bachelor’s degree in Dietetics. These words are my take on the messy but beautiful chaos of motherhood.

Janet's training, racing and other stuff. Monthly Archives: August 2015. Twin Cities Training Update – 7 Weeks Out. The marathon training plan I’ve been following. I love living so close to the Paint Creek Trail. The marathon pace runs I have done on weekends have gone really well so far. Last weekend I ran nine miles just under an 8:00 pace and felt great. I felt even better about my training when I followed up with 19 solid miles the next day. So far so good! Seen on my run. A large church group had th...

Janet's training, racing and other stuff. 2015 Recap / 2016 Goals. When I look back at another year of running and racing, qualifying for Boston (in 2017) at the Twin Cities Marathon. Stands out as one of the biggest highlights. However, when I look beyond that, I realize that I had a successful year all around. I broke 1:40 for a new half marathon PR at the Glass City Half Marathon. In early June, which was followed by a bigger improvement a couple weeks later at the Corporate Cup 10K. I’m hoping ...

Janet's training, racing and other stuff. My stylin’ footwear for the next few weeks. How’d I get here? I went through my training log from a couple years ago to reassure myself. When I was in a car accident. At this point I’m not really interested in trying to bike or do much of anything besides lift weights. I don’t want to do anything that will jeopardize my recovery. I want to get through this as quickly as I can! Follow me on Twitter @reidphotography. I know not being able to run is a pretty minor p...

Janet's training, racing and other stuff. Corporate Cup 10K Recap. I love this shirt. The Chevy logo on the back. Based on my time at Glass City and my 5K PR, Greg McMillan’s calculator. Said I should be capable of running a 7:12 pace for a 10K. McMillan’s calculator has been incredibly accurate for me when I train appropriately. I wasn’t sure what kind of workouts I should do, so I searched for 10K training plans and found McMillan’s eight-week plan. Waiting for the start of the 10K. Some of the 10K run...

Janet's training, racing and other stuff. Monthly Archives: December 2014. Looking Back at 2014. As the year comes to an end, it’s time to look back and remember the ups and downs. One of my proudest accomplishments was participating in my first Olympic-distance triathlon. It was the one racing-specific goal I had made for the year, and though training didn’t go quite as planned, I still met my goal. 2014 age group awards. In Berkley got me back on track. He really took the time to deal with my speci...

Having so much control over my pace has also allowed me to get in some really solid speedwork and cutdown tempo runs. I’m also getting some use out of our DVD collection. I HAVE officially signed up for a couple of running races though. Janet's training, racing and other stuff. Monthly Archives: February 2015. Auto Show Shuffle 5K Recap. This recap is a bit belated, but Matt and I enjoyed running the Auto Show Shuffle 5K on Saturday, January 17th. The race took place in downtown Detroit on the opening day of the North American International Auto Show. Aside from a triathlon on Belle Isle, I’ve never run in Detroit and thought this race would be a great chance to change that. A view of the Detroit River (and Canada) from the riverfront.

Janet's training, racing and other stuff. Monthly Archives: April 2015. Wake the Bear 5K Recap. On Saturday, April 18th, Matt and I went to Flushing, MI to run the Wake the Bear 5K. While browsing through races on RunMichigan.com. I came across this race. The idea behind the race is to wake the bear from hibernation after a long winter. My interest was sparked immediately when I saw an image of the bear. I hoped it would be featured on the race shirt, and luckily it was. 10K runners waiting to start.

Watch Me Go Vegetarian. Sunday, 9 September 2012. Meet my new obsession. She said she had visited this site by Sprout People. Here you can find everything you want to know about sprouting. Tonight I am trying to make quinoa sprouts. My girlfriend gave me a "starter kit" to get me going (2 small mason jars, cheesecloth/netting from an onion bag). I am already thinking of designing a small holder to hold several jars so i can start my own mini sprout farm in the kitchen lol. Tuesday, 28 August 2012. OK so ...
