Home of the Legends. With his wife Jill. Hi Wilf. We hear you hoodwinked your wife so you could become a. Well sort of, I suppose! My wife is a Sunderland girl, and although I had played for Arsenal recently she had never been out of. I came down to speak to Graham, and we chatted about things. I went back home and told her that I had signed for. Even though by that point I hadn t, just so I could test the water. And she was absolutely fine with it. So I went and signed. But overall it was no problem.

Home of the Legends. Andy signed from Redbridge Forest in 1991, before leaving for Gillingham in 1996. He now lives in Sittingbourne with wife Nikki and children Jasmine, 17, and Jake who s 14. Hi Andy, thanks for talking to Watford Legends. How did your move to Watford come about? Even at the age of 25 I still wanted to have a crack at it. That s how it all came about really. And what job were you doing before you turned pro? And on to your time at Watford, how did you enjoy your time at the club? Man j...

Home of the Legends. With his wife Melanie, and children, Mia, 6 and Alfie, 20 months. Hi Gavin. You were Gianluca Vialli s first signing. How did it all come about? I knew Ray Lewington through our time at Brentford. Vialli had told him that he needed a midfielder who would get around the pitch and organise things. Ray told me that Luca was watching me and to keep playing my game. Luca came to. And I must have done okay because I was then asked if I would be interested in coming to the club. I know Ray ...

Home of the Legends. Hi Glenn. Thanks for talking to Watford Legends. You came down to Watford in '89 when Steve Harrison signed you - what prompted the move? This was at the very beginning of the Bosman thing happening which at the time the criteria was you had to be 33 and have given a club five years service and by then I had already given Newcastle six years service. We also won the Intertoto Cup when I was manager there but I don't think anyone takes much notice of that one! No surprise to you then ...

Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories): January 2015

http://watfordthrowin.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Tuesday, 27 January 2015. Nineties nostalgia, pt. 3 – Ooh ahh. I’ll be honest, I struggled to find a programme worth saving from the 1991/92 season. In the end I plumped for the January 1992 fixture against Newcastle, purely because it was one of the few games from that season that sparked any kind of memory. 8221; So near, and yet so far. From The Rookery End: August 2014

http://fromtherookeryend.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, 31 August 2014. What a fantastic game at home to Huddersfield (Alright there were some poor patches, but the feeling I had as I left was pure joy! And what an end! At 3-2 up, down to 10 men, Watford were battling to secure the win against Huddersfield. Finishing off games last season had been a criticism of the squad and the crowd at Vicarage Road were starting to feel very tense. Here is what it sounded like in the last 7 minutes of the match and yes, Abdi's second goal is in there! On the day t...

Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Thursday, 2 April 2015. Most track and field events are fairly easy for the casual viewer to appreciate. All the track races up to and including 1500m are over in less than four minutes, while each individual jump or throw is self-contained; even if you don’t see the whole competition, success and failure are usually easy to tell apart. Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Sunday, 19 July 2015. Am I the only Watford fan who is beginning to be concerned about how many players we’re signing this summer? This morning’s announcement of Jose Manuel Jurado brings the total to seven, and with the transfer window open for another six weeks, that number may well reach double figures before we’re finished. Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories): We aren’t the champions

Albert McClenaghan’s Throw-In (and other stories). The ramblings of a middle-aged Watford fan. Monday, 4 May 2015. We aren’t the champions. I was planning to mark the end of the season with a cosy article running through my memories of the celebrations I’ve been lucky enough to be part of as a Watford fan, from our Division 4 title in GT’s first season to the Play-Off Final against Leeds in Cardiff. But, like most Watford fans, I don’t feel like celebrating right now. 4 May 2015 at 19:33.

From The Rookery End: FRIENDLY OR FOE?

http://fromtherookeryend.blogspot.com/2015/07/friendly-or-foe.html

Tuesday, 7 July 2015. Pre-season in Florida. It was cold. Rejoice, for football is back! This week sees the start of Watford's pre-season fixtures, with games against St Albans and AFC Wimbledon providing some welcome actual, real-life football to think about. The visit to Wimbledon is particularly noteworthy as not only does it coincide with a beer festival, not only does it provide an opportunity to win the first silverware of the season. Am I alone though? Come on you Horns! 7 July 2015 at 21:20.
