We stopped in Salzburg, Austria one evening en route to Venice. We met a cool girl at our hostel and went out for sausages and beer. Afterwards, we all walked around the city together and enjoyed the fresh, mountain air and the architecture. Not to mention a very interesting sculpture garden! Hiking the Luberon | waunderings...

The best part of this trip though was definitely the walks between villages. We walked from Lourmarin to Bonnieux to Seguin and then looped back again. The landscape is rugged but beyond description in its beauty. It was our first walking holiday together and we felt so lucky to be in the Luberon. Waiting for the bus to Lourmarin. So the Louvre is housed in the palace that Louis the 14th ditched in favor of building his little chateau out in the country. And frankly this place is so big that Versailles is a bit of a shack in comparison. What started out as a fortress in the late 12th century has grown into a massive palace.
