A night with the Bangkok Beatles. With The Betters, the best cover band in Bangkok. From what I've seen at karaoke bars in Thailand, there's no such thing as a tone def Thai. Their language is based on subtle variations in tone, so communication itself depends on a great ear. Perhaps this explains the abundance of good cover bands, as well. Monster lizards in Lumpini Park. Excuse me, I mean Monitor Lizards. I had no idea these giants roamed freely in Bangkok until I took a walk through Lumpini Park. There, down by a small lake, I spotted the water-loving creature shown in the photo below. A six-foot Monitor Lizard slithers about Bangkok's Lumpini Park.
