Thoughts, Opinions, Rants and Raves. Sunday, July 24, 2011. The Liberation of Gabriel King *. Published by Scholastic Inc. New York. 1st Edition by Scholastic 2008. It brings up a couple of interesting topics such as bullying, racism, friendship and loyalty. These topics are presented in a pretty obvious manner but the presentation is good enough. The story is about two friends who live in the deep south (Georgia? Frita came up with a plan. Gabe would make a list of everything he was afraid of and th...

Thoughts, Opinions, Rants and Raves. Monday, December 30, 2013. Prisoners 3/4 Seen in theater,. Directed by Denis Villeneuve. Kyla Drew Simmons,. The plot line is fairy run if the mill I thought. Kind if like episode of Law and Order. It seems more of a vehicle to help spell out the major themes of the film than an exceptional plot. There are a few interesting plot events through out the film and it's not till the end that I became a little annoyed at the pedestrian story. So how does Dover feel? A whole...

Thoughts, Opinions, Rants and Raves. Saturday, October 12, 2013. Tabu * *1/2 Seen on DVD. Directed by F.W. Murnau. Written by F.W. Murnau. Robert J. Flaherty. Edgar G. Ulmer. An interesting thing here is who the two writers are. Flaherty was famous for his documentaries (Nanook of the North) and Murnau was famous for his fiction films (Nosferatu). Interesting also is that this is Murnau's last film and he insisted on making it silent even though the "talkies" had been around for a year or two. Chicago, I...
