Pop Classics: Five Interesting Portrayals of Pontius Pilate
http://popclassicsjg.blogspot.com/2015/04/five-interesting-portrayals-of-pontius.html
Reviews of the use of Classics in popular culture. About Me and the Blog. Thursday, 2 April 2015. Five Interesting Portrayals of Pontius Pilate. I know, I disappear for over a month and then come back with more Jesus films. But since it's Holy Week, this seemed a good time to collect some of my favourite portrayals of Pontius Pilate, an historical figure who often doesn't get much attention because, well, he's not really the focal point of the films and shows he appears in. 5 Frank Thring, Ben-Hur. We ar...

Pop Classics: Spartacus: Blood and Sand
http://popclassicsjg.blogspot.com/2000/01/spartacus-blood-and-sand.html
Reviews of the use of Classics in popular culture. About Me and the Blog. Saturday, 1 January 2000. Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Is an historical drama made by the US channel Starz. Do not be fooled by the phrase 'historical drama' - there are no bonnets here! The main aim of Spartacus. As far as anyone can tell, is to throw as much fake blood and boobies at the screen as possible (leading to its common name among fans, Spartacus: Blood and Tits. Sadly, the lead role of Spartacus...

Pop Classics: I, Claudius
http://popclassicsjg.blogspot.com/2000/01/i-claudius.html
Reviews of the use of Classics in popular culture. About Me and the Blog. Saturday, 1 January 2000. Classic 1970s drama serial from the BBC, an adaptation of Robert Graves' novels I, Claudius. And Claudius the God. It has all the usual drawbacks of a 1970s BBC series - all interior filming on limited sets, and the cast, although excellent, do tend to project as if to the back of the audience when standing in a room talking to one other person - but it's absolutely fantastic and a must-see. Zeus, by Jove!

hjälpsamhet | Julia Caesar
https://idaostenberg.com/tag/hjalpsamhet
Dies tristissimus, fast ändå rätt bra. Igår skrev jag in.

| Julia Caesar
https://idaostenberg.com/2015/02/18/ar-dresden-ett-pompeji
I Andalusien.
